Scientists say a now-dominant strain of the coronavirus appears to be more contagious than original

Scientists have identified a new strain of the coronavirus that has become dominant worldwide and appears to be more contagious than the versions that spread in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new study led by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The new strain appeared in February in Europe, migrated quickly to the East Coast of the United States and has been the dominant strain across the world since mid-March, the scientists wrote.

China don't make no cheap crap. Won't make a crappy, ineffective, contagious virus either.

This was know (or rumored) for quite a time.

By highly unofficial second hand sources here in Latvia we are seeing as much as four different strains in as little as 896 cases to date (however, I don't have accurate data, but something between fifth and third of those cases are "primary imports," people who did catch the bug before coming home from abroad all around the world).

So, hide further under the bed? Double up on masks?

This new strain should entirely miss the third world because they'll be too busy starving to death because of the disruption of food supply chains.

Yes

It is old news.

The analogy fails.

West Coast strain should be ridin' the Big Waves, not East.

Two girls for every infection.
