I just arrived home from Lowes.

The place was PACKED!
Besides myself and the workers, I only saw a half a dozen people wearing mask and totally ignoring the six foot thing.

Our numbers are still climbing here...:confused::(

Yeah...,

We climbed from one or two to three, maybe five.
Our two regional hospitals must be completely overwhelmed.
Please send ventilators and please get the Guatemalans out of the Lowes parking lot...

:(

Question: Have the number of available tests fallen or flattened?

A: Don't bother - hypothetical...

;) ;)

Our hosp. closed its overflow tent. Seemed like a good idea at first (according to the experts). :)

And YOU went to Lowes. Think about that one.

Nobody in this thread did because the OP was talking about masks
and he was wearing one, so your reply was...

Idiocracy

Increased by 1100 on Friday. Increased another 1000 yesterday. Additional 100 deaths in the past 24 hours. :(

Give them liberty or give them death.

Might not be an either or in this instance. At least their liberty to go to Lowes, get their hair cut etc...

They’re just exercising their constitutional rights. Why do you hate America?

That's what happens when the President himself says he's too cool to wear a mask and supports armed protesters who also ignore the mask recommendation.

I turn around and head back to my truck when I see scenes like the one in Lowes that you described. Fortunately I have some choices for building supplies, so the ones that recognize the health crisis reality are the ones that get my business.

Some of the businesses have found a niche with people who want to order and pay on line, with them bringing your merchandise outside when you call in to pick up your order.

It will take several waves of infection for the mask thing to become more of a social requirement. There are a lot of reality-denying Americans.

A question or two:

What is the beta ratio of a surgical, or a homemade mask, with particle sizes of .125 micron, (same size as that of the virus)?

Same question for a genuine N95 mask, again, with .125 micron particulates.

I love it when all I have to do is mention reality-deniers, and they just crawl out from underneath their rocks to deny reality. Save me from unnecessary citations.

I saw two excellent demonstrations on TV regarding the vapor exhalation patterns of humans under various conditions and activities. It ranged in extent from a couple of feet for shallow breathing to over 10 feet for sneezing and singing. Masks are not worn to protect the wearer as much as those around the wearer.

The whole social distancing thing at stores in my area of Arizona is determined in large part by who is managing the store, even at chain stores. So, people are writing on-line to the corporate offices of stores with half-assed control measures to inform them that they will not patronize that particular store until measures are taken to protect customers.

Answer my questions, oh self proclaimed reality king.

Start here:
What is the beta ratio of the masks with .125 particulates?
