The handle once faced the right way... The plumber would be me- many years ago when the ancient washer housed inside gave way, I replaced it as best I could. I was very pregnant and very pissed off at the time. But, to a professional's discredit, one was called a year ago to check it out and replace the damned washer again.. and the handle is still oddly placed. *shrugs*
