Hi guys,

I know there have been a number of explanations on how to attach pictures in the actual body of the message rather than a clickable link, but for some reason having difficulty finding the step by step.

Can anyone help?

First, you have to find a picture hosting website. Subject matter; matters, as far as if nudity is involved. If so, there is only a handful of sites that allows you to post someone else's pictures. Posting your own pictures, well, there are fewer websites that will let you post them there, that also offers you some control on who see's them, and when. Otherwise, you might expect them to be distributed everywhere.
There are "clean/non-nude image sites all over.

The hosted site should give you links to the images when you upload them to their site. Don't just simply copy the URL of the image page at the top. There is no way to explain this, but different forums, like Literotrica, have particular links that work, or don't. To that ends, the hosting website usually offers about five different links. Usually two or three of them will work. The simplest, is to copy the URL they provide (note, this isn't the URL of the webpage at the top of the page).

Literotica has several rules worth noting about any images you post. For a full listing of them, you should look for the "sticky" threads at the top of the threads (normally with blue backgrounds). Generally, links to the images are the safest/easiest way to go, but never include any "hot topic" subject matter (kids, bestiality, or scat). If not a link, but an actual mage size is another rule at literotica, as far as how large. The image shouldn't be wider that... 600 pixels? 800 pixels? I forget.

Also, beyond the physical size, is the file size of the image. It can't be over 100 kb's. The larger the physical size of the image, the larger the kb's, is a good rule of thumb. What type of file extension (bmp, gif, jpeg, png, etc) also affects the file size, and availability of Literotica to allow you to post it.
Again, if you just post a link to the image, you don't have to worry about file size, image size, etc, just the image content.

The actual posting of an image is a tricky one, but it self explains most of what I've said. Simply, scroll to the bottom of your message, and look for "manage attachments." Clicking that will bring up a new mini window which will ask for you to enter the URL you wish to post in your comment, etc.
You can either highlight some text in your written post (you have to have something written 5 characters minimum I believe) then click the planet/chain-link icon to paste the link.
You can simply paste the link to your posting, but if you see "....." in your previewed post, where the link is supposed to be, then one of the websites doesn't "like" the other and you'll have to find another way. I believe this is called "hot linking."
You can try to simply post the image itself, by clicking the "postcard" icon (it looks like a mountain postcard with a little stamp), and pasting the URL there.

Regardless of which way you post it, I recommend previewing what you are trying to post, as that will clue you in whether there is a problem or not.

Moderators infrequently abound, who will review what you've posted. If it breaks any rules, then the posting will be edited, and/or removed, with usually a warning or three about breaking Lit's rules, before you're banned for rule breaking. So, I advise you to review those rules, carefully.

Question: By messages, do you mean a Private Message or do you mean a thread reply?

Private message: The only way to attach a picture is via a link that would have to be clicked on by the receiver of the message. That link would need to be a URL where the picture resides.

Thread Reply: Using the same link as you would above, surround it with the image tag... URL ...this will display the image in the reply.
