It's about time we ended the foolishness started by Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger. It was never in our interest to fund the Chinese modernization and it's military build-up:

New Data Shows U.S. Companies Are Definitely Leaving China

I write about business and investing in emerging markets.

U.S. companies are leaving China thanks to the trade war. They’ll leave even more thanks to the pandemic.

Sorry, Davos Man. Your China-led globalization is going out of style like bell bottoms.

Global manufacturing consulting firm Kearney released its seventh annual Reshoring Index on Tuesday, showing what it called a “dramatic reversal” of a five-year trend as domestic U.S. manufacturing in 2019 commanded a significantly greater share versus 14 Asian exporters tracked in the study. Manufacturing imports from China were the hardest hit.

Last year saw companies actively rethinking their supply chain, either convincing their Chinese partners to relocate to southeast Asia to avoid tariffs, or by opting out of sourcing from China altogether.

"Three decades ago, U.S. producers began manufacturing and sourcing in China for one reason: costs. The trade war brought a second dimension more fully into the equation―risk―as tariffs and the threat of disrupted China imports prompted companies to weigh surety of supply more fully alongside costs. COVID-19 brings a third dimension more fully into the mix*, and arguably to the fore: resilience―the ability to foresee and adapt to unforeseen systemic shocks," says Patrick Van den Bossche, Kearney partner and co-author of the 19-page report.

I know this is a thread about the US.
But just a side note, what I read somewhere:

Japan govt. is subsidising Japanese companies to leave China.
Not sure if it's because they had difficulties because of the outbreak, or because they're envisioning a shift in the global geopolitics.

The Chinese are royally fucked. :nana:

Hei, Trump is now going to Europe to "mediate a peace talk between" Serbia and Kosovo.'

Wanna guess why?
My guess is because with the European pandemic China moved in and strengthened it's relations with Serbia. China is an ally of Russia + had opposed the Kosovo pro-Albanian separationists in 1990, which Clinton was supporting. If China moves in, the geopolitics of the Balkans/US-Russia might change again.

Well, Japan, China and Korea do have a shared history...

... of hating each other.

I posted to that effect yesterday or the day before. They are subsidizing the plan to bring their industries home to the tune of 2.2 billion.

So the Wuhan Lab. accidental leak theory is gaining clout.
First the leaked documents confirming suspicions of Intel. from the 5 eyes countries,
more scientists are fronting up...

"Chinese scientists published a paper saying the market doesn't even sell the bats
Wuhan Institute of Virology believed to be the 'only plausible source' of the virus
Index case believed to be a female employee of the BSL-4 lab - now disappeared
Cell phone data analysis allegedly shows the lab suddenly shut down in October

Once it gains international consensus, what will happen?
Australia clearly decided to start on a new path without China.
But what about Europe, US and Canada?
Because it looks like the UK and American Tech corporations and Wall Street will still continue business with China.

Tataaa..!

may 10: China's president Xi Jinping 'personally asked WHO to hold back information about human-to-human transmission and delayed the global response by four to six WEEKS' at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, bombshell report claims

"Germany's Der Spiegel published the allegations this weekend, citing intelligence from the country's Federal Intelligence Service- the "Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND)

According to the BND: 'On January 21, China's leader Xi Jinping asked WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to hold back information about a human-to-human transmission and to delay a pandemic warning.

A Department of Homeland Security report shared on Sunday revealed US officials believe China 'intentionally concealed the severity' of the pandemic in early January and hoarded medical supplies.
It notes that China downplayed the virus publicly but increased imports and decreased exports of medical supplies. The document accuses China of covering their tracks by 'denying there were export restrictions and obfuscating and delaying provision of its trade data.'

It lends weight to a leaked dossier drawn up by the Five Eyes intelligence alliance which describes how Beijing made whistleblowers 'disappear', destroyed early virus samples and scrubbed the internet of any mention of the disease in the early stages."
