China responds to Trump's $500 billion-dollar A.I. proposal with a beat-down for the ages

Should the US go it alone? No allies needed?

Battery storage is one of the greatest frontiers of energy development. Whoever leads battery tech will lead with military robotics, with energy efficient transportation, with grid stability and energy source versatility.

Meanwhile we’re going back to black gold — to their emissions, regardless of the fact that peer-reviewed science overwhelmingly supports the theory that climate change is being exacerbated by human activity.

Do you still believe second hand tobacco smoke is harmless? Business interests spun the narrative around that for years, even using some of the same anti-scientific talking heads, meanwhile profiting off of death and disease and demanding that companies have the right to promote their toxic products to the American public.

For the money, of the money, by the money?
Then you should invest in batteries. When the AI stock reacted to china the energy stocks fell too. Investors don't believe in the batteries either. With or without AI we do need more power if we are going to destroy our habitat with dead batteries. The world has already proven they don't recycle. Yet you continue to demand you have the right to promote your toxic ideals to us.

Sorry, no. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Just stop before you dig further into whatever bullshit anti-science propaganda you’ve mistaken for reality.

Here are some battery facts for you:

* Lithium batteries are recyclable. There is established equipment and procedures that can recycle ~ 95% of the material in a Li battery.

* Lithium Ferrous Phosphate (LFP) batteries are almost completely recyclable. They do not catch fire from thermal runaway and they contain no Cobalt or Nickel.

* Other chemistries and designs are already in use that can store more energy by weight and can be cycled (charged and discharged) many more times, making them last years longer than batteries now being used in most EVs.

Don’t be lazy and trust what I’m saying and don’t remain ignorant now that you’ve been called out. Go look into it yourself. You are provably wrong.

When will these batteries be available. They sound pretty amazing!

I wanted to download one DeepSeek today, the eve of Chinese New Year of the Snake, but was denied by the notice of the website telling us it is under evil attack from many sides.
DeepSeek has tremendously raised the low moral of Chinese people after the telefraud scamming problem and human trafficking in Thailand and Myanmar that caused big insensation in the first month of this year.
Many we-media bloggers now reflect on the educational system of China that has been criticized and believe that the current system is better than the western one, because the team of DeepSeek consists of graduates of local universities without any overseas studying background.
While I am proud of the AI development of China, I am also worried about the future where there might be more people who do not have jobs to support themselves and their families, and it is time for us to sit down to review the theory of Marxism on the productivity and the relationship of production.

Does anyone in China -- even the Communist Party -- really care about Marxist theory any more?

Leftists: We are the patriots who really love America.
Also leftists: Yea, PRC is kicking US tail! Long live the Chairman!

Here lies my skepticism - how is something so amazing gaining such traction in social media so quickly?

My guess - tiktok

It's about the hatred of the USA.....not the AI market.
Lol....JFC this is just the level of response that I've gotten from everyone today.

It's as if the stars are.aligned for my laughs.

Wall street panic over unvetted news.
Those who did sell look to be buying back today. Made a quick few bucks.

Gosh all quiet in this thread.
I hope they are not all back watching the motley fool. Or did they once again jump to conclusions on their own wish to see America fail.
It is noce to see the haters have nothing to say.

If you’re into development there are several new technologies available. If you’re just a consumer you’re going to have to wait a while longer.

Lithium batteries are already cost effective for many applications. The biggest roadblock to implementation is the high upfront cost of investing in many years of useful equipment. Most of the newest more advanced tech is still prohibitively expensive for most end users because they are not yet produced on a high enough volume to take advantage of higher economy of scale.

Some of the promising technologies include:

* Solid State batteries
Longer lifespan, improved safety, 2-3 x the energy density of current typical EV batteries. The tech is available. Manufacturers are currently working on scalability. (Toyota, QuantumScape, Solid Power)

* Silicon Anode
40% more energy density, faster charge rate than current tech. Still working out some bugs but very promising.

* Aluminum-ion.
Commonly available materials, higher power density, higher charge rates. Still in development

* Several types of Lithium sulfide and Hydrogen Sulfide are under development with very high energy density expected.

* There are many more. I strongly recommend you do some of your own research before regurgitating more anti-science, pro-petroleum talking points.

Countries and manufacturers who invest in these will eat our lunch since our current administration seems to have little interest.

Tesla is doing a lot of battery R&D but a lot of that is being done overseas - particularly in China. Musk didn’t like how Biden didn’t invite him to the US EV manufacturing conference, but grandpa Joe only excluded Tesla because of its anti-union, anti-regulation, pro-China investment and manufacturing. Biden believed American technology investment should be reserved for American companies who support America workers. 😉
