Keep your eye on Sweden

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered after this is all over.

For example, "Is this any worse than the annual flu before vaccines were in wide spread use?" We won't know the answer to that question until Igg testing is available and used routinely as an "after action" audit.

We will never know the actual number of infections,
for some people it is very mild, for a few, fatal.
So much has gone underreported and, I fear,
that like another famous disease, a positive
test means a death was never from
the underlying cause...

So why do you think you guys are doing so well, with fewer cases?
It's baffling.
Um. We're not? I said we're doing worse than our neighbors. May have expressed myself unclearly. Swedens death ratio is higher than Denmarks with what from what I've seen are the same report citeria. And it'll probably escalate.

We're doing better than, say, Spain and Italy, but that's not strange since we're later in the natural curve of the spread. The first outbreak was tourists returning home from Italy and most of those were quickly idenified, traced and contained. Not all, but enough to delay the development a couple of weeks. And then it started coming in randomly from all over.

The Nordics are also doing better than the Benleux even though there are more similarities. I can guess different reasons. Less densely populated cities would be one thing. It's naturally easier to avoid getting coughed at. This actually reflect the pattern for regular seasonal flu.

We can if we make the effort. That's what Igg testing does. It tests for the anti-bodies produced when you have had the disease so with that data we can know exactly what the infection rate and mortality rate was/is.

Perhaps our blathering idiot of a president should be more careful with his words and run his mouth less. As of January 2020, The Hill has Trump documented at over 16k lies. And that's before his daily reality show with the ever changing narrative as he pulls his head out of his ass.

The reality is he did use the word hoax and then had to - for the 80 millionth time during the last three to four years - pull it back and reframe it. Because the man can't figure out how to just sit down and shut up. Especially when he is clueless about something.

Remember, this was supposed to go from 15 cases to zero?

Keep defending him - it's not like it matters. You guys would defend him if he shot someone on 5th Avenue.

His exact words from the 2/28 speech:

One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything, they tried it over and over, they’ve been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax. But you know, we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We’re 15 people [cases of coronavirus infection] in this massive country. And because of the fact that we went early, we went early, we could have had a lot more than that.

The man trips on his dick all the time and you guys fall all over yourselves to defend him.

We've been there got that t-shirt. Summarized as follows:

This rationalization of Trump's idiocy is insanity.

It is spread more or less the same way, so that would make sense.

We'll use a "model" to guesstimate that;
like the one applied to housing derivatives...

;) ;)

Viruses always follow the same pattern of infection, like a Bell curve.

Until there’s a vaccine or Butters gives everyone a folded tea towel, the rest of it amounts to riding it out.

Keep your eye on Sweden, seriously. Sweden has taken NO steps to restrain their economy. All they've done so far is ban crowds of more than 500 and told everyone to protect themselves as they would for the flu. That's it. And if their numbers come in no worse than the rest of the world that decided to shut down their nations then everyone is going to have to do some re-thinking.

Yea, but they're part of the EU, their economy is tied to the others.

Unless they decide to be TOTAL Nazis and be independent all the other countries who's economy is going to get totally hosed are going to need them to redistribute their wealth for the sake of the collective.

A local issue, but Finland is a little bit perturbed about the higher incidence in their border area with Sweden and are contemplating closing it. That would not be good for Sweden because they rely quite a lot on cross border medical support from the Finns.

They will probably work something out.

Having a border? *GASP* THAT IS FASCISM!!! Closing it? Nazis!!!!

LOL....more of an idiots rendition of the lefts hope that Covid will will be an extinction level event.

For some reason, some people want this
to be a plague of Biblical proportion.

Because Orange Man Bad........and they have no fucking clue how to beat him, so they're hoping for the end of the world via plague.

I do agree that TDS is probably worse than SARS-CoV-2
when it comes to the health of our country, and
as per the example above, the mental health.

"He USED the Word!"

The reason we cannot have nice things is that too many people here cannot identify the basic theme of a sentence much less a paragraph. You can't explain to them subject and predicate much less the antecedent of a pronoun. If they see a word and they decide to associate with another word in a sentence then it means what they think it means, not what it actually means. The reading comprehension level on this forum with "literacy" implied in the title is astonishingly low.

I cannot imagine that anyone in adrina's educational career, any of her coworkers, bosses, family, or friends have ever given her the impression that she's smarter than a Wharton graduate but yet she thinks she is. She truly thinks she's a smart person.

It's like one of those talent shows where the person can't carry a tune in a bucket but insists that they did well.

You got to admit, the "Trump said it's a hoax" and conservatives' reaction to that
is one of the most hillarious things

He wasn't referring to the virus, but he said plenty of other jaw-dropping things.

To them it's like that picture...

Maybe you see pink, BUT I SEE GREY!

If you don't see grey; you kinda stupid...

If that is what makes you feel better about yourself - calling me an idiot while you rationalize Trump's behavior - that is far more indicative of your problems than any of mine.

Please do keep making yourself feel better while rationalizing that trainwreck of a president. I get it. It's an ego thing.

You mean, the truth tiggers us?

Why is the anti-Trump faction focused on one lie
and not the plentiful other few-dropping things?
Is it because they find themselves insecure in
the knowledge that they are the minority
opinion when it comes to this subject?

They act like totalitarians; seize the lie,
repeat it often, assure your faction
that repetition implies validity.

When did the schools cease teaching kids how to diagram a sentence? It used to be 4th grade English.
