Keep your eye on Sweden, seriously. Sweden has taken NO steps to restrain their economy. All they've done so far is ban crowds of more than 500 and told everyone to protect themselves as they would for the flu. That's it. And if their numbers come in no worse than the rest of the world that decided to shut down their nations then everyone is going to have to do some re-thinking.
 
I think it would be interesting in keeping an eye
on both Sweden and New Zealand.
The latter is the only country to institute a full lockdown in the early stages, arguing, in the long run, that this would lead to fewer economic losses.

The economic recession that's looming is scary.

But mind you, those two countries have a low density popullation, and are anal about following rules. Whatever those higher up recommend (wash your hands ++ or such) people follow.

And their officials took the virus seriously.
You don't see crowds like Bondi Beach or Spring Breakers, nor do they have Fox News saying "it's a hoax".
 
Sweden has only 900 more reported cases of Covid-19 than neighboring Norway, but SIX TIMES as many deaths.

The logical conclusion is that there's a ton of unreported disease in the country.

But yeah, it's comparatively lax here. So far.
 
A local issue, but Finland is a little bit perturbed about the higher incidence in their border area with Sweden and are contemplating closing it. That would not be good for Sweden because they rely quite a lot on cross border medical support from the Finns.

They will probably work something out.

One reason is different criteria used. But it doen't make up the difference. Denmark is a better comparison in terms of reporting, and the death ratio is still way higher.

After being told by the left wing media and their toe suckers here on Lit that the Chinese have beaten their home grown virus and were opening up their various venues like theaters to the public again. I note today they closed them all back up again nationwide. Most likely they're getting hit with another wave.

Fox news said no such thing.

You repeating that they did is participating in the actual hoax which is the attempt to Katrina Trump. The logistics problems that occurred in New Orleans where entirely the fault of local County and state leadership. All of whom were Democrats. They still with the complicity of the national news media managed to pin the responsibility for their inept handling on Bush.

Trump was correct to call them out for their partisan politicizing of a national emergency.

The truth is that neither President Trump nor Fox referred to the virus as a hoax. They referred to it as the Democrat's new hoax, and that was due to the irresponsible panic they and their media backers caused. Instead of helping the public deal with this pandemic in a calm and informative manner, they had them buying toilet paper in bulk, sanitizer and hand wipes and masks, throwing out click-bait headlines and sensationalist propaganda that President Trump was to blame and all before they began telling people how to best protect themselves.

The country you should be keeping an eye on is South Korea. Unlike our Governments, theirs took the problem seriously from day one and implemented a Test,Track,Treat policy. The levels of internal restrictions within the country are lower, the spread of Covid 19 is far slower and the death toll is miniscule by comparison.

While Trump was claiming it was a hoax designed to stop him being re-elected and Boris was thinking that a few old people might die while we build up "Herd Immunity" The South Koreans blocked all flights from China and installed Infra-red temperature scanners at all points of entry. That, my friends is the action of a decisive government that cares about it's people and economy. Unfortunately neither the USA or the UK has such a government.
