Things you can't find due to this virus!

I think toilet paper is a given. But in this area, there are also no paper towels or cleaning supplies except for toilet cleaner. Water of any kind. Meats for the most part. Saw very little lunch meats, hot dogs, sausages and the like at Walmart today. They did have some meat but mainly cheap ground beef and pork. Pasta of any kind, including Ramen. Rice and dried beans. There was a small amount of canned vegetables and canned beans. Cooking oil. None to be found. My friend who lives in a neighboring city said she saw some dog food but not the special kind her dog needs.

How are things where you live?

I need a haircut and the barbers are closed up for the duration. I may end up back with my pony tail.

Same. Dentists are closed too!
as they should be unless it's a genuine emergency...given the virus is mainly transmitted in droplets from coughing and sneezing, what dentist should be messing about in people's mouths right now? nuhuh

Right. My daughter is in the dental field and I was really shocked that they didn't close sooner!

Yup, I had a dental appointment last month and asked what they were planning on for the new virus. They told me that they didn't have a plan. I suggested that they think about a plan.

bread of any kind, or pasta - canned or otherwise. No mac'n cheese!

I went to the store 3 days ago and got milk, eggs, bacon - plenty there. But, NO BREAD!

Going back tomorrow to see what's left and what they still have.

I mean, it's a week after everyone was told to stay home so I'm hoping that a lot of the shelves have been replenished because all the hoarders have already been to the store every day for the last week.

I got out early enough to Kroger this morning (about 10 minutes after opening) that I was able to find everything I needed and almost everything I wanted. If you wait till the afternoon, you're not going to get any meat, bread, or toilet paper, but they were all still on the shelves at 7AM (though the bread aisle was at about 1/3 stock).

Rice, pasta and pasta sauce, yogurt, tortillas (for some reason), and canned beans looked like they were in the lowest supply. And they looked to be out of paper towels; there was a giant stack of bottled water where the paper towels usually are.

I went to Sams early and got a 25-lb bag of flour, a two-pack of yeast (2lbs total), 5 dozen eggs, a big can of tomatoes, and a big container of canola oil.

I've already made a loaf of bread for my two neighbors.

I can't seem to get to any store when they have bleach, pasta, or ground beef bro.

Ground beef, perhaps your local butcher? That is where I go for some stuff.

I also hit the grocery store before or right at opening.

Yeast. Fucking yeast. I live on the outskirts of Appalachia, not far from a major city. And due to some health issues with a kid at home, my wife and I have made bread, bagels, various baked goods on our own for years.

And now we can't find yeast. Anywhere. I picked up a six pack of Belgian ale today, and salvaged a culture from the bottom of a bottle, so hopefully the bread making can resume in a day or two.
