Concern grows over which political leaders may have contracted coronavirus at AIPAC conference

Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) were among the political leaders who attended the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference.

On Friday, AIPAC announced that two attendees had tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus.

Israel ordered the self-quarantine of citizens who had attended the conference, but there are no such precautions in the United States.

No they'll be fine, the US of A is not lucky enough to lose Pence and Mitch through an act of God!

Here’s how Trump’s coronavirus strategy is like his Hurricane Maria response

In an op-ed published in the Washington Post this Friday, numbers cruncher Phillip Bump argues that the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus crisis is reminiscent of its response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, where President Trump traveled to the island and severely underestimated the death toll from the disaster.

“Trump insisted on hyping the low number, though, because in the moment, it made his administration’s response seem less inadequate,” Bump writes. “Only 16 people died? Why, President George W. Bush’s handling of Katrina was therefore far worse! When later estimates suggested a death toll closer to 3,000, Trump said openly that those numbers were wrong, without actually indicating what the accurate numbers might be.”

"Trump on track to kill more Americans than Obama!"

Bye Mick!

Trump’s new chief of staff brutally burned to the ground by MSNBC’s Ali Velshi

On Saturday, MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi examined President Donald Trump’s decision to replace White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney with Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) — blasting Meadows’ unfitness for office, but also blasting Trump for attempting to use the appointment as a distraction.

“The chief of staff used to be a powerful job, perhaps the most powerful job in America after that of the president,” said Velshi. “But Trump has undermined the position through his penchant for weak power structures that revolve around him. The West Wing has largely been purged of anyone who disagrees with the president. The replacement of the third chief of staff is juicy as far as palace intrigue goes — it fulfills our need for drama — but it is not important. Who the chief of staff doesn’t matter anymore. The position no longer wields power.”

You won't have Mick confessing anymore!:D:D:D

Fox’s Bartiromo raises red flag and predicts ‘hundreds of thousands’ of US coronavirus cases

Maria Bartiromo predicted Thursday during an appearance on Fox News that “hundreds of thousands” of people will be infected with the coronavirus in the U.S. as disinformation continued to spread on the right-leaning network about the outbreak.

“I think you have to expect constant volatility. It’s going to be down 1,000, up 1,000. A lot of back and forth. A lot of volatility,” Bartiromo told Fox News host Bill Hemmer when asked how the coronavirus would impact the stock market. “Why? Because there’s so much nervousness on Wall Street and really throughout the country. We don’t know enough. We have not gotten enough information. The administration tried to get ahead of this last week. You know that. They said we will see more cases.”

At least 226 people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with the coronavirus since Thursday evening. Fourteen of them have died, all but one in the Seattle area. More than 100,000 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus worldwide.

6% fatal!

Bill Barr will not win his fight with ‘no-nonsense’ Judge Walton after Mueller report slam: Ex-prosecutor

On Saturday’s edition of MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner tore into Attorney General William Barr in light of his recent rebuke from federal District Judge Reggie Walton calling him untrustworthy and calling for the release of the unredacted report from former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

“From the Department of Justice, this is their response,” said anchor Joy Reid, putting their written statement on the screen. “‘The court’s assertions were contrary to the facts. The original redactions in the public report were made by Department attorneys, in consultation with senior members of special counsel Mueller’s team, prosecutors in U.S. Attorney’s Office, and members of the Intelligence Community … The Department stands by their work, as well as the Attorney General’s statements and efforts to provide as much transparency as possible…’ is that credible to you when the actual report came out was so different from what William Barr said?”

Let's see the report and let the Judge decide. His opinion counts, not Billy Boy's.:)

White House overruled health officials who had urgent coronavirus warning for America’s seniors

The Associated Press issued a bombshell report on Saturday evening that the White House overruled medical experts who had sought to issue a warning to America’s seniors.

“The White House overruled health officials who wanted to recommend that elderly and physically fragile Americans be advised not to fly on commercial airlines because of the new coronavirus, a federal official told The Associated Press. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention submitted the plan this week as a way of trying to control the virus, but White House officials ordered the air travel recommendation be removed, said the official who had direct knowledge of the plan,” the AP reported.

Trump has Airline stocks?;)

Blockbuster new book reports Mick Mulvaney thought it was a good thing Donald Trump is mentally ill

She recounted how former chief of staff Mick Mulvaney reportedly suggested White House staffers read the book A First-Rate Madness: Uncovering the Links Between Leadership and Mental Illness by Nassir Ghaemi, who is the director of the mood disorders program at Tufts Medical Center.

“This book argues that in at least one vitally important circumstance insanity produces good results and sanity is a problem,” Ghaemi wrote. “In times of crisis, we are better off being led by mentally ill leaders than by mentally normal ones.”

Trump was warned of a pandemic ‘that could lead to massive rates of death’ by the intel director he fired

Just how stupid is the HMFIC?

The United States was warned last year that a pandemic could lead to serious problems if President Donald Trump and his administration didn’t take public health readiness more seriously.

Stanford lecturer Brett McGurk cited a document from the office the Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats’ 2019 “Worldwide Threat Assessment,” which specifically warns of a disease like the coronavirus.

In the section Human Security, Coates explained: “the United States and the world will remain vulnerable to the next flu pandemic or large-scale outbreak of a contagious disease that could lead to massive rates of death and disability, severely affect the world economy, train international resources, and increase calls on the United States for support.”

Did he take the word of the professionals? Nope!

Dow futures sink more than 1,000 points and oil prices plummet amid coronavirus

But DON'T PANIC...yet.

Dow futures have dropped more than 1,000 points, CNN reported Sunday afternoon.

As the coronavirus is locking down businesses, schools, and other public spaces, the market appears to be reacting. The hospitality industry is already one of those being hurt by the outbreak. Italy typically has 15 percent of its economy coming in from tourism, and they see a dramatic decrease in travel to the country, particularly northern regions.

Sunday afternoon, the State Department issued a warning to anyone that has any underlying health issues should stay off of cruise ships.

Falling oil prices don’t necessarily mean the same thing as a tumbling stock market, she explained. As Saudi Arabia and Russia “play a game of chicken” over oil prices, it’s creating a price war. Normally that would be something to benefit consumers, but in this case, she explained it isn’t.

“We desperately need fiscal policy to bridge big disruptions for people — some people not able to earn money. Some people without sick leave — as we deal with the crisis here in the U.S.,” said Swonk.

Well, Okay Panic if you must.:D

Ted Cruz interacted with coronavirus-infected CPAC attendee — and won’t return to Washington

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is under his own self-imposed quarantine after it was revealed he interacted with the coronavirus-infected person at the conservative conference CPAC ten days ago.

The incubation period for coronavirus is around five days, and it has been ten days, said Fox News reporter Chad Pergram. So, Cruz doesn’t believe he has the disease but said that “out of an abundance of caution, and because of how frequently I interact with my constituents..I have decided to remain at my home in Texas this week, until a full 14 days have passed since the CPAC interaction.”

He can catch up on his NetFlix. :)

Live updates: U.S. markets crater with stocks down more than 5 percent as coronavirus spreads

The threat of a coronavirus-fueled oil war and continued panic around the outbreak brought markets to new lows Monday, triggering a forced halt on trading after the Standard & Poor’s 500 index sank 7 percent shortly after the open. The Dow Jones industrial average cratered as much as 2,000 points before clawing back.

The forced freeze was a sign of volatility for Wall Street amid the most turbulent trading in recent memory. Another 15-minute halt will be triggered if the S&P 500’s losses hit the 13 percent threshold. In the event of a 20 percent decline, markets would shut down for the day.

Trump’s Twitter meltdown during stock market collapse shows he is finally afraid: CNN host

Kate Bolduan suggested Donald Trump’s tweets in the midst of all the chaos seem to betray the fact that he is finally afraid for his political future.

After fellow CNN correspondents explained what is going on in the financial markets, host Bolduan brought the president’s tweets into the conversation.

“Of course it is clear that fear and uncertainty have now set in,” Bolduan stated. “That is part of what we’re looking at and part of the reaction here. But I looked at the president’s Twitter feed and it looks like the president is — it looks like the president is afraid as well if you look at the tweets of what he’s put up in the last few minutes.”

Trumps panics over 'looking bad', like he hasn't for the last three years?

Trump is emulating ‘Baghdad Bob’ as the nation plunges into chaos: Conservative columnist

In a despair-laced column for the Washington Post, conservative columnist Max Boot painted a grim picture of life in New York under the threat of coronavirus — and President Donald Trump’s ineffectual efforts to spin the pandemic away.

“The stock market is in free fall; on Monday, its rapid decline triggered the circuit breakers that are employed to slow mass sell-offs,” wrote Boot. “I know that my 401(k) balances aren’t doing as well as they were just a few weeks ago. I just hope that my family, friends and colleagues stay healthy. My partner and kids are relatively young, so we should be okay, but I have aged parents and in-laws who are in high-risk categories, so that’s worrisome.”

‘Dangerous and irresponsible’: Republicans rattled as Trump’s half-baked Taliban peace deal quickly falls apart

Congressional Republicans have remained remarkably unwavering in their fealty to President Trump. But even as they march lock-step right into the middle of a global health outbreak — mocking the crisis while simultaneously self-quarantining — a number of GOP lawmakers have broken with the president over his latest foreign policy bungle.

Ending America’s longest and most unpopular war would undoubtedly be a good thing for a president facing a panicked economy and looming pandemic. Afghan and American forces killed more civilians in 2019 than the Taliban did, according to a UN report. Within hours of signing a peace deal with the Taliban late last month, however, this supposedly historical achievement by the Trump administration turned into a public embarrassment.

I'm sure that any agreement between the Trumpanistas and the Taliban would not be worth the paper it is written on, if only for rolling joints of Afgan Kush.

Trump campaign cancelling fundraisers — but refusing to admit it’s over coronavirus concerns

In recent days, multiple fundraiser events featuring surrogates of President Donald Trump have been delayed or canceled for supposed “scheduling conflicts.”

However, looking at these events, a pattern emerges: there appears to have been a risk of coronavirus exposure.

For example, First Lady Melania Trump canceled a fundraiser that was set to take place in Beverly Hills, California next week. This occurred around the same time that Los Angeles County declared a state of emergency over coronavirus.

Mel seems to take it seriously, Donnie not so much!:)
