Afghanistan’s future in the balance as US, Taliban sign deal

The United States is to sign a landmark deal with the Taliban on Saturday, laying out a timetable for a full troop withdrawal from Afghanistan within 14 months as it seeks an exit from its longest-ever war.

President Donald Trump urged the Afghan people to embrace the chance for a new future, saying the deal held out the possibility of ending the 18-year conflict.

After 18 years and $1 Trillion, America declares victory and goes home. :)

Trump and Pompeo’s Taliban ‘peace deal’ immediately hammered by conservative as a fraud

"Trump says getting rid of "bad" people made him successful
Miami Herald|37 minutes ago
President Donald Trump said Saturday that his "journey" in the nation's highest office would have been a failure had he not be able to rid the government of people he says are "bad." Trump came into office railing against what he and his allies call the "deep state" — career government employees and political appointees held over ..."

I think Trumpski should hold more rallies! Maybe in Seattle?:)

It would be fun to see how many show up compared with previous attendance records. How many are willing to show that they really do believe what Trump spouts about the low risk of infection in crowd gatherings.

How far ahead do you plan these weekly threads? Have you named the November threads, or will you just get drunk and cry for a month when Trump wins?

Will you go away if he doesn't? I'll say it again. Neither one of us has a clue whether he will or won't. You're showing your nervousness by continually asserting he will. The rest of us will deal with whatever happens--when it happens--whatever it is.

I expect he will win, since I've been watching the Dems' trainwreck gain momentum for years. They need an overwhelming loss to finally shatter the walls of their thundering echo chamber, or widen their little Overton window.

And my bet in some challenge thread is I'll have my account deleted if Trump loses.

Which, I guess shows how far up his ass you have your nose shoved. He doesn't control what I do in life or on this board that much. Meh.

I generally pick the title while I'm searching for a starting article. My intent is to show you Trump Chumps just how stupid Donnie acts.

I think, (hope) Trump will lose and the Dem will be Liz, who will clean out the shit that Donnie Boy has spread around.

Mike Pence’s coronavirus clownshow humiliates Trump — and endangers the rest of us

Last Wednesday as the stock market dropped precipitously for the third day in a row, President Trump was reluctantly forced to admit that the nation was in the midst of a major global public health crisis. So he held a desultory press conference, handed out some misinformation and blamed Democrats for the stock market slide. And then he named Vice President Mike Pence to be the point man for the crisis, reportedly because he thinks Pence “doesn’t have anything else to do.” It was hardly reassuring. In fact, Pence might be the very last person one would want to put in charge. His history with public health is abysmal.

Authorities are sorting this stuff out now, but the idea that the U.S. response has been “the best in the world,” as Trump has claimed, is obviously nonsense. His designated point man is spinning like a top, insisting that everything is going swimmingly.

So far, Pencie’s doing a heckuva job.

Spin Mike, Spin!:D

CNN analyst ‘guarantees’ Trump will replace Pence — and predicts the exact date

CNN’s Paul Begala strongly believes President Donald Trump will dump Vice President Mike Pence — so strongly he’s even predicting the date.

The political analyst predicted Trump would drop Pence from the ticket on Thursday, July 16 — exactly four years after he was formally announced as the 2016 running mate, reported Huffington Post.

Begala told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference that Trump set Pence up to fail by placing him in charge of the coronavirus response, and that would give him an excuse to replace the former Indiana governor on the 2020 ticket.

“He’s going to dump Mike Pence and put Nikki Haley on the ticket to try to get those suburban moms,” Begala said. “You watch — guaranteed.”

Bye Mike!:)

What Mussolini and Hitler’s rise to power can teach us about opposing Trump

To defeat Trump the main thing history tells opponents is–unite! Do what adversaries of Mussolini and Hitler did not do in the early 1920s and early 1930s, thereby allowing the future tyrants to come to power constitutionally and then dismantle more democratic systems.

Those who did not support Mussolini in 1922 or Hitler in 1933 and failed to stop their increasing tyrannical ways got no do-overs. But American voters in 2020 still have the chance to end Trumpism before it spreads further in our courts, justice system, government agencies, and beyond the Republican Party. To do so, however, voters must realize how dangerous he is–“I think he’s a long-term and immediate danger to the country,” as one senior national security official stated. And they must unite and vote for his Democratic opponent. The luxury of voting third party or not voting at all is no longer a sensible option for anyone wishing for a USA we can cherish.

Trump continues tirade against Mike Bloomberg in new typo-filled tweets

President Donald Trump spent his Super Tuesday morning firing off typo-filled tweets attacking former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose advertisements on cable news shows have regularly gotten under the president’s skin.

“Mini Mike Bloomberg can never recover from his incompetent debate performances,” the president wrote in one tweet. “Also, as mayor he was very bad under pressure — a chocker (sic)!”

Message from the Golden Throne!

Tornadoes kill at least 22 in Tennessee as Nashville sees "stunning" damage

Tornadoes touched down across Tennessee Tuesday, killing at least 22 people and leaving an undetermined number missing, according to authorities. Tennessee is now under a state of emergency.

The death toll was nine Tuesday morning but jumped to 22 by midday, as bodies were recovered from fallen buildings, according to Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

There are a number of people still missing across the state, according to officials. They would not provide a number of the missing on Tuesday morning, as search and rescue crews are still working. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said at a press conference that the number of fatalities will likely increase by the end of the day.

Trump claims World Health Organization coronavirus death rate is fake news

President Donald Trump spoke with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday about a myriad of issues and rambling insults about Democrats. But one comment left some alleging the president was being reckless with the facts.

The World Health Organization has said that the fatality rate for the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is between 3-4 percent. Recent specific estimations put it at 3.4 percent. However, the president said that it’s all fake news.

“I think the 3.4 percent number is really a false number,” Trump told Hannity. “Now, this is just my hunch but based on a lot of conversations … personally, I’d say the number is way under 1 percent.

Trump’s numbers are already false for the United States, where out of 158 people with the virus, 11 people have died. That’s a 6.96 percent fatality rate.

Well if Trumpski researched this with..."a lot of conversations," then he must know all about the statistics of COVID-19. When has he ever been wrong? :) ????

Republicans tell the Supreme Court to force Trump to turn over his taxes

Republicans are demanding that the Supreme Court stand up for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office as it fights for subpoenas of President Donald Trump’s taxes.

Newsweek reported that 37 Republicans have signed onto a brief demanding the High Court uphold the DA. The brief was filed Monday by the Republicans, including former members of Congress and the Executive Branch as well as notorious Trump antagonists George Conway and John Dean.

Time to see if the Supremes are still Americans?

‘Partisan Republican’ John Roberts accused of ‘selective outrage’ in response to Chuck Schumer’s remarks on Trump-appointed justices

This week, U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts has been highly critical of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for comments on President Donald Trump’s two High Court nominees: Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Justice Neil Gorsuch. But Roberts is being accused of “selective outrage” in light of some of the things far-right blowhards have said against Supreme Court justices in the past.

Brian Fallon, founder of Demand Justice, asserted, “What selective outrage from Roberts,” adding that the chief justice “had zero to say in defense of” his “Democratic-appointed colleagues,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, “when Trump attacked them last month.”

:)

Yeah, Roberts was silent over Trump telling two of his justices to stay out of Trump-related cases. Just flip him the finger on this until/unless he shows the neutrality a chief justice should.

Trump tells Fox News he’s going after Social Security and Medicare: ‘We’ll be cutting’

At a town hall meeting on Fox News Thursday, President Donald Trump acknowledged that his administration intends to cut Social Security and Medicare.

“We — when these trade deals kick in, you know this economy is the best economy we’ve ever had. It’s nothing to what it’s going to be when the trade deals kick in,” said Trump.

“But if you don’t cut something in entitlements, you’ll never really deal with that,” said the questioner.

“We’ll be cutting, but we’re also going to have growth like you’ve never had before,” said Trump.

"When the trade deals kick in?"

‘Listen to the scientists’: Lindsey Graham rebukes Trump for blurting out ‘hunch’ on coronavirus deaths

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) suggested on Thursday that Americans should “listen to the scientist” instead of President Donald Trump if they want solid facts about the coronavirus.

Trump, however, said that he had a “hunch” that the rate is closer to 1%.

But Graham indicated that he has little faith in Trump’s “hunch.”

Federal judge issues ruling saying he can’t trust AG Bill Barr’s Department of Justice

The Trump administration’s habit of constantly lying has cost the Department of Justice credibility with at least one federal judge.

US District Judge Reggie Walton on Thursday issued a ruling saying he would personally review the redactions in the Mueller report.

Before the redacted copy of the report was released, Attorney General William Barr issued a “summary” of the report’s findings. When the redacted report was released, it became clear that Barr had grossly misled the American people.

“The actions of Attorney General Barr and his representations about the Mueller Report preclude the Court’s acceptance of the validity of the Department’s redactions without its independent verification,” Walton wrote. “The court will conduct an independent review of the unredacted version of the Mueller Report to determine whether it concurs with the Department’s determination.”

Will Bill Barr take this sitting down?:D

‘Barr is unfit to serve’: Legal experts stunned by judge’s ruling that blasts AG’s credibility

:)

Attorney General Bill Barr received harsh criticism on Thursday after a federal judge ruled that the Department of Justice lacks credibility.

The ruling was in a case seeking the release of an unredacted copy of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

Daniel Jacobson @Dan_F_Jacobson
This is an extraordinary opinion. A federal judge finds that Barr exhibited a "lack of candor" and "made a calculated attempt to influence public discourse about the Mueller Report in favor of President Trump" in releasing his letter summarizing the report https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PHfUd0BqceqxEPUxGN9n2dkFy9LTBw-j/view

Aha ha ha ha, "Lack of Candor," THat is one way of expressing it.
