Impeachment Thread

Have you not been paying attention to the Dems candidates?

Just because you hate them doesn't mean anything, for anyone besides yourself. Everyone here can see you'd support Trump no matter who gets the nod to oppose him, and hey, that's your right. But don't fall into the trap of imagining everyone feels like you do.

I guess we'll find out in November, won't we?

I see that the TDS has continued unabated here.
The libtard teeth gnashing will be epic when Trump wins again.

If he does somehow lose to the creepy old guy or the phraudulent Indian they will party like it's 1999.

More likely we'll get more meme material of Australians breaking down in hysterics.

Why do Republicans think Trump is the best candidate for 2020, after the shitshow of the last three years?

For one thing, he's not a Socialist and, for other, he has done a decent job in office. The economy is stronger now than it was three years and most people are better off. The quibbles resulting from TDS are mostly of little or no consequence.

I take it you're opposed to Social Security, Medicare, firefighters, police, etc.?

Well, the stock market is up. But that's not really the same as "most people are better off". Besides, all the upward trends started under Obama. He's just been able to ride the wave so far.

The quibbles resulting from TDS are mostly of little or no consequence.
I agree. When someone like Dumpington calls him a statesman, I do indeed write that off as nothing more than TDS.

NOBODY - not even the Democratic Party's 2020 presidential candidates - are crediting Barack Obama with President Trump's successful handling of our nation's economy! Even Joe Biden knows that saying that would only make himself appear foolish in front of the other candidates! Barack Obama's lasting legacy regarding our nation's economy is the $10-trillion that he added to our national debt!

Whenever somebody like YDB95 insists that President Obama's complete ignorance of economic matters somehow made him a good president, I can't help but laugh! Barack's lasting legacy will be his single-handed destruction of Democratic Party legislative numbers in the House & Senate, and also his presidential executive order allowing transgendered guys to compete in girls' athletic events!

Whenever someone calls Barack a statesman, well... nobody ever calls him that, do they?

‘Move for a mistrial’: Legal analyst says Adam Schiff must end Senate trial before GOP acquits Trump

NBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner on Sunday addressed the possibility that Chief Justice John Roberts could declare a mistrial before Republicans in the Senate acquit President Donald Trump on impeachment charges on Wednesday.

Kirshner argued that House Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff could call for a mistrial even though such a move is not contemplated in Senate rules.

“I wish Schiff WOULD make a motion for a mistrial based on, among other things, the revelation of [Pat] Cipollone’s grossly unethical conduct/conflicts of interest,” Kirshner wrote on Twitter, referring to allegations that the president’s attorney witnessed presidential high crimes.

Plus the no defence but deflection the whole team of Trumpublicunts were absent in exoneration of Trumpski.:)

Oh not to mention the craven Senate, fearful of a tweet storm in the night!

That’s what they don’t want to admit. Trump has done industry friendly regulation rollbacks, but the best he can accurately claim is that he hasn’t fucked up the recovery.

I agree trump hasn’t fucked up the recovery that began under Obama.

Look into what economists say about accruing debt during recessions vs recoverys.

None of those things have anything to do with socialism.

Quit trying to conflate civil/public services with government ownership of the means of production and distribution of goods and services as a number of candidates have supported doing with a number of industrial sectors of the economy from HC to energy.

They are not even remotely close to the same thing and it's beyond dishonest to conflate the two.

As for the wealth redistribution yea....I'd be better off with the money SS has taken from me than without so I'm against them.

When people come up with garbage like that, I'm reminded of how Jimmy Carter brought home the Iranian hostages an hour or so before Ronnie Reagan took office.

Let them think what they want. The recovery started under Bush II. The loons forget that Bush signed into law the [ Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 ] and the [ Troubled Asset Relief program ] known as TARP. It was Obama who rode the wave.

The House Democrats remind me of San Francisco 49ers football fans who are unhappy about the referees and want to declare that their Superbowl loss never really happened. It's too late! IT HAPPENED! Just accept your loss and get on with your life!

Liz Peek (of FOX News) says that the Democrats' impeachment flop has now set the stage for a HUGE State of the Union speech by President Trump! The Democrats messed-up. Not only did their zealous drive to impeach Donald Trump flop with voters – even in their own party – but the president will now deliver a barn-burner of a State of the Union address and there’s NOTHING they can do to stop him.

To top it off, a cranky Socialist with zero chance of beating Donald Trump is currently leading in their early primary contests.

Addressing the nation in his State of the Union speech, President Trump will rightly take credit for signing new trade deals, building up our military, pushing our allies to carry more of our mutual defense burden, stemming illegal immigration, supporting our ally Israel, boosting incomes and jobs, confronting China’s cheating and spying, taking out villainous terrorists, ditching cumbersome regulations, soaring homeownership, raising our energy capabilities, and so many other initiatives that somehow overcame the capabilities of Democrats.

In short, President Trump has made America safer and more prosperous.

A recent WSJ/NBC poll showed that only 41 percent of Democratic primary voters wanted their party to focus on impeaching Trump - that’s a big slide in enthusiasm for impeachment since December; given the glaring weaknesses of their case. It's also not surprising that the endless arguments about Trump’s delaying aid to Ukraine went nowhere. The Senate, ultimately, declined to call witnesses and a vote to acquit is all but certain. Indeed, the outcome of this ugly proceeding was never in doubt.

Americans might wonder, then, what it was all about. They might rightly question why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her colleagues dragged the country through such a destabilizing ordeal, which will likely hurt our democracy by severely lowering the bar for impeaching future presidents. If the effort was purely political – meant to tarnish President Trump – it failed. Most polling shows his approval ratings at or approaching all-time highs. Meanwhile, his fund-raising has been extraordinary, hauling in unprecedented campaign dollars and thousands of new supporters.

But the most damaging result of the impeachment mess for Democrats is how it has scrambled their primary race. Surely Pelosi and her colleagues anticipated that highlighting the president’s dealings in Ukraine would damage Joe Biden, the front-runner candidate thought most able to beat Trump. They must have known that every story chasing Trump’s alleged abuse of power would link Joe and Hunter Biden to unsavory activities in a corrupt country.

President Trump will make his case in the State of the Union address, talking of protecting our borders, lowering drug prices, defeating ISIS, increasing black wages, killing anti-American terrorists, Bloomberg’s “Consumer Comfort” index at a near-record high, and so many other signs of success.

While Democrat legislators sit peevishly, most Americans will stand and cheer.

Oh yes, Jimmy Carter, the last time a businessman was President. So he and Trump are pretty much the same?

phrodeau writes: "Oh yes, Jimmy Carter, the last time a businessman was President."

Ah yes, Jimmy Carter - the peanut farmer from Georgia - who got elected claiming to be honest, assuring us that: "I will never lie to you!" In the immediate aftermath of the Watergate scandal! It was apparently enough to get him elected president!

"So he and Trump are pretty much the same?"

If Jimmy Carter was the same as Trump, phrodeau - he'd have been re-elected in a 44-state landslide - but instead he was DEFEATED in a 44-state landslide (by Ronald Reagan!)

Carter's problem was that, while admirably honest, the man was NO LEADER! He allowed the nation of Iran to HUMILIATE the United States by seizing our nation's embassy (which is an act of WAR), with the Carter administration then doing everything that Switzerland could have done had the Iranians illegally seized the Swiss embassy in Tehran instead, and held 52 innocent Swiss embassy personnel hostage for the next 444-days!

President Trump is FAR MORE like our President Ronald Reagan, who inspired FEAR in the Iranians, so much so that upon the very day Reagan moved into the White House the Iranians immediately released all 52 of our embassy personnel. President Carter was much more like the Barack Obama of his time.

The president's impeachment trial is almost over - the final vote is now scheduled for Wednesday, with NOBODY believing anymore that the House Democrats will get a conviction. It's all been an enormous waste of time & taxpayer money, with the potential voter backlash against the do-nothing Democratic Party looming large for next November!

Presidential lawyer Jay Sekulow pointed to how many times Adam Schiff insisted that his House managers had proven their case regarding Trump's wrongdoing over and over again - beyond all reasonable doubt, something that Schiff himself has openly admitted. But if that's true, Sekulow then asks, WHY was there such a desperate need for more witnesses? The answer: there never was. Schiff simply wanted to extend this thing for as long as possible.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is stuck with all of those expensive autographed House impeachment souvenir pens purchased with taxpayer money that nobody wants anymore! Now they are nothing more than reminders of her party's failure to end the Trump presidency!

The Iranian's didn't fear Reagan, they laughed at him. The reason that they released the hostages on the first day of Reagan's administration was to bust Carter's balls.

Reagan traded arms for hostages during a US led arms embargo. The Iranian's dealing with Ollie North would agree to release x number of hostages in exchange for x amount of arms. The Iranian's realized the stupidity they were dealing with would accept the weapons, release fewer hostages than were agreed to and then gabbed more hostages.

Reagan, the dumbass should have been impeached. But at east he did what he did for the good of the country rather than for the good of the Trump empire

When people come up with garbage like that, I'm reminded of how Jimmy Carter brought home the Iranian hostages an hour or so before Ronnie Reagan took office.

It was five minutes after he took office, but yes, it was Carter who brought them home. Despite what I'm sure you hear on AM radio every week or so, Reagan did not charm the Iranians into submission with that sugary grin of his. The timing was nothing but a final fuck-you to Carter.

YDB95 writes: "It was five minutes after he took office, but yes, it was Carter who brought them home."

The mullahs of Iran held Jimmy Carter in COMPLETE CONTEMPT - but they understandably FEARED our incoming President Reagan! And so, on the very day that Carter left office and Reagan was inaugurated, the Iranians RELEASED the fifty-two U.S. embassy perrsonnel that they'd been illegally holding prisoner for 444-days!

"Despite what I'm sure you hear on AM radio every week or so, Reagan did not charm the Iranians into submission with that sugary grin of his."

Jimmy Carter thought his silly peanut grin would charm the Iranians, but they neither feared nor respected him! Jimmy was America's WEAKEST president until Barack Obama moved into the White House!

"The timing was nothing but a final fuck-you to Carter."

Weak American presidents are NOT feared or respected around the world. They are held in contempt by those nations that hate us.

Glad to see you admit that Trump didn’t save the economy.
