Sen. Bernie Sanders has put nationalizing health insurance at the center of his presidential campaign, but his proposal to fight climate change also calls for a government takeover of a fundamental segment of the economy — electricity production.

Sanders has laid out a $16 trillion climate change plan that would transition U.S. electricity generation away from fossil fuels to renewable resources like wind, solar and hydropower by 2030. That’s far faster than any other Democratic candidate's target and sets a pace that rivals like former Vice President Joe Biden say is unrealistic.

And like Sanders' healthcare plan, the green energy push would muscle many of the country's biggest companies out of the business.

Nationalize healthcare, national rent control, tax your income away from you, and now nationalizing private industries.

And people think this guy is the savior of liberty?

Yuuup... government ownership over the means of production and distribution of goods and services is the ULTIMATE freedom!!

Individuals having private property and rights to their labor/skills is REAL oppression!!!

Also there is nothing un-American about sac'ing peoples right to their own labor, skill and property.

Just ask a progressive.....

Bernie's wild-eyed climate sidekick and partner in crime is Bill McKibben. An English major and perfessor [sic], he's every bit the loon that Bernie is.

Current estimates of climate sensitivity (the effect on temperature of an increase in CO2) vary by more than a factor of two.

Yet the charlatans claim that the Catastrophic/Dangerous Anthropogenic Global Warming/Climate Change CONJECTURE is "settled science."

That's how you know they're charlatans.

Government management of electricity worked so well in Argentina, and Venezuela ya know.....

No worries.....this time....."it will be different."

I am grateful for "Bug-Eyed" Bernie's ill-considered campaign for the Presidency of the United States. Were it not for his idiotic quest, I would not have seen one of the most wonderful insights that's e'er seen the light of day:

"...Rabid socialism is not a political theory, it’s a religion that can’t be reasoned with to its true believers. I think it was Clint Eastwood who supposedly said if you could reason with a socialist, there wouldn’t be any socialists..."

-"Pointman" (an internet nom de plume)

source...

I must credit both "Pointman" and (assuming his attribution of authorship to be correct) Clint Eastwood for that extraordinary and enlightened insight and logic.

Hey, I don't like him either, but he's still better than fucking Trump!!

But seriously, the Democrats need to ditch these nutty ideas. They are just as out of touch with mainstream society as the extremists who have taken over the Republican party. I used to BE a Republican, once. But this kind of "Nationalize everything and raise taxes so we can give everyone free stuff" is turning me off to the Democrats now, too.

It would be great if Bernie wins presidency.

I agree. A communist elected President would ratchet things up maybe even more than crony capitalist Trump has.

The statist quo is the realm of authoritarian collectivism. Chaos of the statist quo is the air individual liberty breathes.

GIVE ME CHAOS
or
GIVE ME DEATH!

$16 trillion ÷ 10 years = $1.6 trillion/year

$1.6 trillion ÷ ≥ 200 million American taxpayers = $8 000/year∙taxpayer

Btw, who's estimating it'd be $16 trillion anyway?

It could it be a fraction of that.

Also, once the PVCs are installed, they're likely good for years, if not decades.

Were they the only ones?

Sanders is now old news - old old news: poor useless fool just hasn't worked it out yet.

It's interesting in one sense however, because at a time when generation is becoming more diversified with various production technologies and with the decentralization of generation into smaller more efficient units, Sanders is advocating a BIG centralized system which if it was ever relevant, it has not been for the last 60 years.

So pretty much as usual for him. ;)

Communist Bernie will be calling for a federal takeover of everything if elected.
