I haven't heard yet, has Donald J Trump been impeached?

Yes he has, Boomer. You need to stop napping through the big events.

Now, on to the Senate. :D ;)

Maybe not, Pelsoi may not send the articles to the Senate. I honestly have no idea if that is can be done. Vote to impeach, yet not send them to the Senate for trial?>

Whoah, not so fast.

Turns out Mitch kinda blew it. Maybe he shouldn't have shouted from the rooftops about how NOT impartial he's going to be, and that he's colluding with the defense.

Nancy's not turning these Articles over just yet--not when 71% of the US wants to hear from witnesses in a "fair" trial.

Moscow Mitch fumbled at the finish line, giving away his corrupt game too quickly.

Pelosi's not fumbling anything, though. Doesn't that just burn Trump and the board Trumpets to a crisp? :D

The next ten consecutive ignored posts will soon arrive. :D

What a masterstroke by Pelosi that would be!

Impeached President Trump is counting on a Senate to acquit him, but if the Articles of Impeachment are never sent to the Senate, there's no trial...and Trump makes history as the first impeached President to not be acquitted.

I don't care what side you are on that is just crazy!

No, you idiots, Trump has not been impeached. He and a "lot of people" said the whole impeachment thing is a hoax. Don't you guys even pay attention to the parallel universe of your President?

It's sort of like that scene in Dicken's novel A Christmas Carol. Trump will wake up tomorrow morning, fling open his window, and a newspaper boy will tell him that his nightmare about impeachment was all fake news, and the headlines on the real newspaper will read, "Trump Receives Perfect President Award".

Nancy, you'll have to excuse our friend Retro. He's a little slow..

^^^^ Idiot.

If they're only going to impeach him and not send it to the Senate, then go ahead and impeach him once a month until the end of his two-term run. They're either fighting for the Constitution (as they say) or they're abusing their power in a farce of political grandstanding. (They'll probably lose votes from their supporters for not following through on their hopes and dreams of removing Trump from office.)

I guess the below link could have caused Pelosi's balls to crawl back into her stomach.

Until it goes to the Senate, there's nothing to see here. :(

I agree. Send it to the senate. Let them try it anyway they want. If Mitch does what he has threatened to do, rush it through in full cooperation with the president and his cohorts, without a complete and thorough trial, the American people will take notice. Not the Trump base. When the Donald said he could stand in the middle of 5th ave. and shoot someone and no one would care, he was talking about those who blindly follow him, who have and will continue to ignore everything underhanded he has done because for some unknown reason they believe the end justifies the means, that no matter how he does it as long as it benefits him and those who support him it's ok.

Through history this is the way things have gone sideways, how governments have been toppled and how good people have been enslaved to heinous ideals. Our nation is based on laws, laws which hold the fabric of our society together. When one of those who are suppose to be administering those laws starts to ignore and pervert them, it becomes a very dangerous precedent.

Stop and consider, if you supported the impeachment of Clinton because he lied to congress on something as benign as sex, why aren't you supporting the impeachment of this president for what he has done? If you look at the evidence presented and still insist that the president did nothing wrong, then I can say nothing more to you that will change your mind. But if you are the least bit logical, the least bit balanced, the least bit fair, you might want to take a second look at why this is happening, consider the consequences of what will happen when the next president, one who may not share your political views, does something similar and cites the actions of Trump as a precedent.

Consider, if the last Democratic president did the same things Trump is doing, how would you have reacted? Would you have seen it as a violation of our laws? If so, why not now? Wrong is wrong, no matter who is doing it and they should be called on it when it happens.

Meh, sealed indictments are nothing new. ( And yes, I know, this is not an actual "indictment", before some of you go getting your knickers in a twist).

That's too big an "if" for the board Trumpettes, I think.

Just remember when Pelosi says "no one is above the law" it is only because congress exempts itself from most of the laws.
The House voted on articles of impeachment but the President is not impeached until the Senate passes a vote of impeachment.

What evidence? If you believe the Republicans, there is no evidence, and if you believe the Democrats (who couldn't even prove everything they accused him of) then there is more than enough evidence to remove him from office.

(The Democrats have accused Trump of everything they can, and it's all come up false. Believing them now with a second-hand whistleblower is just sad.) Logic and reason states that the Democratic Party has lost their shit, and while both parties turn into babies when one of their own isn't president, the Democrats have really pushed the insanity because Trump is their president.

I'd assess the situation and continue on with my life.

If it was a Democrat President, with a Democrat senate, and a Republican congress, I'd say, "The Democrats will vindicate the President and our government will have wasted a lot of time." (Although, much of this is setting up future wins and losses come election time, so for the parties, it's not a complete waste of time.)

When Obama was the president, I led a happy life away from politics. I followed the law, read the headlines, and I waited until the elections to cast my vote. It was very soothing.

With Trump as president, I lead a happy life away from politics (this is not politics, and had I found Literotica back then, I'd be doing the same thing I'm doing now). I follow the law, read the headlines, and I'll wait until the elections to cast my vote. It's very soothing.

I'm not a politician, so, as a member of this society, I have no problem allowing the elected officials to do their jobs and once elected, I distance myself from concern. I change with our country, not against it (so far, but under the right conditions, anyone can become a revolutionary). If I wanted to make change, I'd move into real politics, instead of posting on Literotica.com to see what reactionaries like KeithD are going to cry about next.

This is precisely my point. you have made up your mind and will not consider anything other then what you want to believe. So be it. Go on about your mundane life and ignore what I wrote. I still hold out hope though that there are others who can look at things logically and fairly, but then maybe I'm a fool too. I have been known to be wrong a few times in my life.

Study law.

The house impeaches. Only the house impeaches. Nothing the Senate (not even Mitch McConnell) can do to change that once it happens.

Secondly, if you are erroneous there you may wish to evaluate your first statement. Especially as it comes out to whataboutism that excuses this behavior for all future presidents.

Sissy needs another enema.

It all seems like a big waste of time and money to me.
Politicians are above the law and thats all there is to it.

At least the Dems approved the money for his wall...thats a good thing

That won't even leave a mark

Well, Bill Clinton would probably disagree with that, but then again, Bill Clinton admitted that he made a mistake, and Trump will never admit making a mistake. Trump is a sociopath and has no conscience

Given that Trump still considers himself "perfect", and given that he has zero impulse control, and given there is nobody remaining around him that has the temerity to disagree with him, he will likely screw up again, big time.

Trump's arrogance will ultimately result in a short-lived economic boom-times for the rich, but long-term devastation and crushing debt that future generations will be left to deal with.

hey, not only did trumpski get impeached, but GRETA made the cover of time magazine as person of the year!

Oh, man. If Time had only held off its decision for a couple of weeks--until after the impeachment--Trump most certainly would have made the cover and he could be pleased about how all of this is coming down.

I love that deplorable gavgives has resorted to shit posting memes in every thread as a way of dealing with his butthurt. :)
