I've been working on some Handmaid fan-fiction-of-sorts: ideas and comments solicited
—spent several 10s of hours on it.

1. I haven't read the book nor seen any episode—don't really want to—looks stupid, boring, with too much torture porn—I've created a thread about it in GB.
2. I've seen a lot of YT videos about it as well as read reviews, heard Atwood in interviews, and saw the movie years ago.
3. While I'll likely post most of my fan-fiction-of-sorts in FFN, AO3, and a Mirahaze wiki I created, I might try to post some in Literotica. (and no, it definitely ain't for commercial reasons)

In my narrative, in my "canon", so far, Trump gets re-elected, then Pence wins, then someone as left-wing as Bernie gets elected.

During this time, infertility—either in the world or just US—affects +90%, +95%, +98%, or +99% of people because of something-something-environmental-stuff.

Then the Sons of Jacob attack.

Then it's like mind-control or something: around 3/4 of the US become pro-Gilead, including the military—though maybe less so them—because of something-something-social-change-increased-conservatism-religion-something-something-people-are-desperate-something-something.

I also make it that Gilead-style-coups are attempted in other countries, because Americans aren't the only ones gullible to religious extremism. I'm even thinking Canada. I guess as I live in Toronto, it might go under Canadian Gileadans (pre-1998 City of Toronto area, that is—maybe in Malton I might have gangs of Sikhs prowling the streets looking for Gileadans to stab, slash, and shoot. The Gileadan presence doesn't take as much of Canada, they're driven out in a few years, and the prime minister during the SoJ attack is still PM. I might even make Canada the 3rd, maybe 2nd, richest country in the western hemisphere.

Now I don't want to write about a few billion dying due to nuclear winter, so I want to limit the nuclear exchanges; and I'm going to make Gilead as killing more—because that's what revolutionaries tend to do it seems.

But still, I have to drastically reduce the nuclear capability of US and particularly Gilead.

I might have the strategic bomber command or whatever destroyed in infighting between US and Gilead. I've figured out a way of destroying most of the ICBMs without affecting the world (much). Presumably as the SSNBs are underwater, US and it's allies can get to them before their captains do the arms-stretch-out-"I-hear-Gilead-and-I-obey" thing.

Now during this time many are ticked at the US government for essentially allowing Gilead to happen, so instead of two governments claiming the US, we have several. I'm probably going to have republics of California, Texas, and Florida. Utah will probably also become its own entity.

Russia gets involved, seeing Gilead as an existential threat. I want Gilead to be afraid of Russian threats to use nukes on them. Millions of Americans live in Canada, including 100 000s of soldiers. In bi-lateral talks, a Chinese delegate literally slaps out a Gileadan delegate—essentially in a "where's-the-trillion-you-owe-us-biatch!" (saying it to a guy). (or as a person IRL who heard me explain it said, "You no mess with the Wongs!")

Many of my stories occur in "rebel" areas—as if Gilead itself wasn't a rebel state. I've got one run by hardcore communists, one run by a mutant (political, that is) strain of hardcore feminists, and even one run by Islamacists ("Death to the Gileadan Satan! Allāh Akbar!). I'd do one about the black bantustans but I'm not too hip on black culture—cultural appropriation and all of that. Ditto the Republics in terms of many fact-checkers possibly being as pedantic about their parts of the US as I am of Toronto, Ontario, and Canada.

As for the sex, I won't be using original characters and things might be so divergent, I might as well create my own story—though I'm not sure I can write dystopias as I think the near future for the US looks pretty good—it's mostly due to the eminence of THT and all the "Trump's America is like Gilead" talk (note: I'm anti-Trump—though not viscerally so)—so there won't be a lot of Nick-June-Luke-Syrena fru-fru.

In the area run by my strain of hardcore feminists, I could obviously have a lot of separatist lesbianism going on—fight together, fuck together. In a few stories, I have CFNF going on as the castes are reversed: unwomen, hardened by life in the colonies—feminists, female gangsters, and female vets rubbing shoulders—learning to help each other, are on the top; wives and "aunts" are on the bottom. Some men will be allowed in.

I'm also working on some women who go to Alaska—likely the US part—though +70% is now part of the Republic of Alaska, and make a new life. When I think of it, this song comes in mind (the song rather than the lyrics or video) and this. ("Let's celebrate all the battles that we've won. Today is one of those days that we say it's alright, it's okay." "We dance with no fear.")

I'm working on a road trip taking place in Gilead in a carjacked Eye van, with a misanthropic former unwoman with bombs and assault rifle, and a snarky character that Liam Neeson might play, but because he's also a badass who's fucked up Gilead, there's some mutual respect—he's not shot or beaten, tied-up, gagged, and thrown in the trunk with an "aunt" and "eye". Probably no sex between them though—she might rather the two shy handmaids in the backseat that she and her soul sisters liberated—the handmaids being somewhat incidental in the mission—and had to strip down to their undies because the female badass doesn't like that handmaid shit on them. Maybe he and she have do a bit of locker room talk, and openly talk shit about Gilead, while the shy handmaids listen—and after they witnessed her savagely beat the "aunt" before throwing her in the trunk.

I don't know if I should go even more trope-y and have her vaping, drinking shots of hootch from bottle—she and her soul sisters got when they did a home invasion of a Commander's house—oooooo she's such a badass!—and high on amphetamines—maybe smokes cigars.

Sounds like a sprawling epic with some sex scenes thrown in. Consider Lord of the Rings: hundreds of pages on a sprawling epic. Then throw in some sex scenes. If your writing is good enough to get people interested in the rest of epic, could work. Otherwise, seems like a lot of reading from an unpublished unknown author with an uncertain payoff.

But what you are describing in the sex scene parts sounds a lot like the porno series Bound Heat. At boundheat dot com, if you are interested.

Sounds like much of the porn I write!

Oh fuck! Thanks for the encouragement! :D

I wouldn't read it. :D

Thanks for the warning. :D

and thanks for your time! My posts can be a bit long. :D

Okay,

I have about 4 to 8 stories that are perhaps +80% done. A few take a few pages, one is over 20 pages—much of it dialogue between the female badass and male badass while a guard they took as prisoner is going down the highway, while all see evidence of resistance—including bottles thrown at them—they being in an Eye car, though the story starts with a lot of action—the carjacking of a humvee-like vehicle, which involves a suicide-bombing-of-sorts.

I'm not too big on plots in stories, but I love world-building—so the Tolkien reference is probably justified.

I've thought of making audios, though given I'm an amateur, that might be a few more 10s of hours of editing—either my own voice or getting a woman to do it—what's the going rate? $10-$20 an hour? She reads it a few times out loud and I spend most of the time editing?

It's also why I got a wiki going: a "Fiction:" namespace for the actual fiction and the world building in the mainspace. The former would be narratives, while the latter would be pseudo-encyclopedic entries about places, characters, events. I could then lop off a lot of content in my stories for the pseudo-articles, and replace them with internal links.

Hey, we're in the 21st, not 19th century: might as well use the technology.

As for the Bound Heat, while I luvs my lesbian porn, I'm less into explicit BDSM—at least nipple-clamps, orgasm denial, restraints, typical stuff it seems, etc. (Btw, almost all of the lesbian BDSM I watch are tickling—light fun stuff.)

It's a bit of an Anti-Gilead. I'm even thinking of an "anti-Aunt Lydia"—a big-boned plain-looker with a bit of an Irish accent—who reforms former wives taken prisoner. It's CFNF, blue dog collars and tags, maybe a head shave begins the prisoner's stay—one time only though—the length of hair signifying the time she's been there and thus how likely reformed. Those are the lucky ones, the rest of the wives get sacrificed in a quasi-pagan ritual—though nothing too gorey.

In my CMNF writings, many of my naked women aren't involved in BDSM, and I'm not too much into ENF, and even less into OON.

In the CFNF, about 40% of the women are "citizens"—mostly soldiers or those with necessary skills who are clothed. The others are naked to incentivize them to fight. Any woman from Gilead seeking refuge will be taken in, fed, given shelter, encouragement, and counseling, but on her second new moon there, she has to get naked unless she's willing to fight. They aren't hated—Gilead traumatizes women and different women react in different ways, including an aversion to fighting—you don't want to fight, you don't have to, but their new society is under siege, and the more volunteers, the better.

Handmaids are seen as unlucky compared to wives and marthas, but also a bit lucky. In this society I created, they are also regarded as lucky/unlucky. The citizens, many being former unwomen, econowives, and jezebels, occasionally see the handmaids as having had it a bit easy. Oh they will help and will sympathize, but they have little tolerance for things like indecisiveness. June Osborne might get smacked on the head for talking about Hannah. "Don't you think we lost our children? Stop fucking try to work in their system, bitch! Hannah's gone! The best way to save her is through us!"

(Kinda reflective of my own views.)

At risk of being anti-femininity, some of the citizens act like (some) men—feeling entitled because, hey, they can't be sexists being women themselves, at least Gilead-fighting women: hence some moral licensing, and hence catcalls, rec centers that can look like strip clubs, maybe inappropriate touching, etc. Maybe I should call it, "The Wife's Tale" or something like it.

At any rate, if you got this far into this post, thanks again. :)
