I don't understand why the rightist/Republicans/Trumpers are so adverse to Rory's challenge.
I mean I think Trump's going to win in 2020, but I won't take up his challenge because one of us would lose and it'd be a loss for me in this forum: either as a non-participant for a year or not enjoying his posts for a year; but what's your reasons/excuses?
If you are so confident in Trump winning in 2020, that it's plainly idiotic to even think otherwise, then why not take his challenge?

I'll likely vote for the independent candidate, as I did in 2016. It will make no difference as I live in a solid blue state; the EC votes will go to the Democratic candidate, no matter what. however i'll continue to vote my conscience.

(It's as if the Tories and the Liberals have have been playing musical chairs with Queen's Park (Ontario) and Parliament (Canada). When one has one the other has the other. This has been the case for 38 of the past 50 years. Trudeau is PM while Ford—who's been compared to Trump—is premier (keeping in mind that while 1/8th of Americans live in California, a bit over 38% of Canadians live in Ontario). Five years ago, Harper, somebody even BotanyBoy might like, was PM and a lesbian Liberal was premier. A version of this game seems to go on a little in Ottawa and Washington, re: leftists and rightist. 50 years ago, a Trudeau was PM while a Republican very much hated by the left was President—plus ça change. 27 of the past 50 years, FWIW—13 of the past 20.)
