Happy Saturday. My exciting plans today involve laundry, making stencil sets of the boy scouts motto for cub scouts, and baking cupcakes. Kid is in the mood for vanilla, so thinking maybe a cream cheese frosting and cherry cream filling and have a little cherry cheesecake type vibe.

Anyone else have anything actually exciting going on?

The things we do for our kids. Are you a leader? Somehow I ended up in charge of Beavers -- I think you probably don't have Beavers. Stop snickering. I'm not sure whether Beavers is specifically Canadian, but it's our 5-7 age group in Scouts. I have to plan our Remembrance Day meeting this weekend.

Plus hours of work to catch up on, attempting to meal plan followed by grocery shopping, cleaning/organizing the house, etc.

The fucking Santa Claus Parade is tonight. I hope the kids don't want to go.

For me it’s the chiropractor and grocery shopping. The excitement in my life knows no bounds.

Ah, yes. Thrilling indeed.

It's a good morning to stay in bed.

"Be Prepared" isn't a bad way to live your life.

I had some work outside for today. Six inches of snow changed that. I'm going to run some errands and look at another winterbeater. An Explorer this time. It looks okay, but it's kind of an Indiana Jones. You know: "It's not the years Honey, it's the mileage"

Indeed. And yeah, you can keep that snow shit. Haha. I am a big fan of beater cars myself, though in Florida I do better with the reverse (old, finish best described as dings and scratches, and low mileage) nice thing about florida is rust usually minimal at the 20 year mark.

Santa Claus parade already, that is early but it sounds fun. Hubby actually leads the lions and tigers (kindergarten and first) I help out frequently but the pack leader and group leaders are men, dads of the members. Hubby generally tasks me with organizing the logistics of his desired activity.

So in other excitement, I finally noticed that my water pressure went to shit. Meaning well probably wasn't running. Indeed it was not. So I flip the breaker, remove the housing to the pressure switch, as that is usually where the problem lies, anyone care to guess what I found this time.

Oh, right. Scouts Canada has been fully co-ed for more than 20 years. Beavers tends to have more female leaders, I think, but in our group the older sections are about 50/50. My hubby has firmly taken the position that all Scouts-related things are mine to deal with, lol.

Not sure of the current groups and ages , but there used to just be cubs and scouts. At some point they started beavers as younger than cubs.

My oldest brother ended up as the county commissioner over scouts and guides. I got thrown out of scouts after about 6 months, can’t remember why now.

I guess snake.......or tarantula.
And now I have to wait by my phone for the answer rather than going out to rake the leaves - oh no! So now back to binging The Good Place. Please pass the cupcakes.

Some type of critter?

Oh, interesting. Girl scouts is still girls here, but boy scouts in theory has turned co ed. I say in theory, because from what I see, it is only co-ed in August, during recruitment, by September most girls quit or move to girl scouts. Not because they are treated any differently, they just expected cub scouts to be like girl scouts. We don't have a girl scout unit in our town, so some try cub scouts to avoid commuting. Of course, 99% sure we won't have any scout unit in our town come January 1st either, and the only one left in the county will be the girl scouts next town over. So i guess we will either try martial arts or football.

Haha. Got to love that whirlwind of energy, I am sure.

Lions was our new add (prior cub scouts started in first grade)

And haha, got kicked out of scouts. Ok, i will admit to being a player in the girl scout brawl of 86. Mall cookie selling day. Yeah, you can guess, little girls fighting over who gets to someone first. I am still standing with she kicked me in the shin first, lol. Got to watch them girl scouts around cookie season, ruthless short doe eyed little girl sharks I tell you. Don't let the sweet polite demeanor fool you. These are the business women of tomorrow with the self control of their age. They have no problem hustling in front of pot stores or weight watchers. They are cute, fast, relentless, and can turn on a dime. If encountered, just hope to get of easy at only one box. And be nice, because shemight just cry or kick you on the shin or both lol.

Close. Last time it was a giant cockroach, the time before that a giant wolf spider, before that an anole, and this time a half smooshed very crispy tree frog.

Some type of critter?

Yeah, it is always a critter, isn't it.

We don’t have the ‘cookie season’ over here, the girls are much more sedate. As far as I’m aware, and someone may correct me, but the only co-ed groups here are ‘Rangers’ these are the older teens and young adults who continue on from scouts and guides.

No cookie season. The horror.
