it's gone from around 60 overnight to feeling like 33...rain's stopped, cold front's crossing over, wind's flippin' collllllllld, man, but we just pulled a lovely 5 gallon bucket of sweet potatoes and another of mixed peppers, getting those in before the freeze tonight.

that'll be us in the morning, and for a few to come. not a reall deeeeeeeep freeze, just 29 but there's a windchill. i think it was last winter (may have been the one before) i went to bed when the big cowpond (3-4' deep, maybe 5 in the middle?) was slate grey and ruffled... woke up and it was THICK ice, like about a foot thick or more! white, solid, weird.... but cool

right now i'm cooking brownies. not sure if the grandbabies are coming out in this cold but we'll eat the brownies if they don't

I have a friend who loves hot and spicy everything. Puts hot sauce in his hot sauce. Unfortunately it wreaks havoc with his constitution and makes for...tender mornings the next day.
He puts a roll or two of bog-wipe in the freezer before heading out to Hot Wing Wednesday at the pub, or for some spicy Vindaloo.
