I have a few published stories and a few rejected, the rejections are generic and don’t actually state why.
I have tried to find editors to take a look at them and see what needs to be changed but no luck in finding one at the moment.
Advice appreciated

This thread might help. The rejections may be generic, but they should give you a good idea of what you need to correct to get the story approved.

You could request an editor right here on this thread, including the genre and wordage of what you need edited. This is probably the most likely place to find an editor.

Any volunteers to edit my stories please?

As I noted, you need to provide the genre and wordage--and you also need to actually have a well-reviewed draft in hand before asking for an editor.

I have well worded drafts of all my stories, a previous editor looked at the stories made a few changes and couldn’t understand why they were rejected either.
Category for one story was loving wives and interracial. Category for the other was mild Bdsm

I glanced at your latest story (posted in 2013) and found quite a few errors. If I had clicked on the story to read it for entertainment, I would have closed it out after the first few paragraphs.

I feel like I'm pulling teeth here. To get an editor here, pick out a single story you want edited, identify the genre, and give the wordage.

That story was edited by another and passed muster before being published. Are you saying the editor wasn’t up to scratch on that one?

Is loving wives no longer a category? What have I been reading all these years?

What part of choose one to ask to be edited and to provide wordage didn't you understand? OK, I'm done with you. I think it probably would be very frustrating trying to work with you as an editor.

The category wasn't his point. Your lack of giving the wordage was.

They asked for the genre which was given, I have no idea of the wordage, I write short stories on my phone with one finger. They can be read in a few minutes. None of my previous stories (as they managed to critique one of them in their reply) as been a war and peace effort It doesn’t give me a word count.
It’s nice to know that the know it all shitheads that have plagued this site for years still have someplace to come.

Were your rejected attempts under the 750 word minimum?

You'd have to drop it into Word to exchange with an editor, and that will give you a word count; and while you're there use the Word spell check and grammar checks.

Be aware the site has a 750 minimum story length (unless it's poetry).

Flaming forum regulars isn't the best look when you're asking for help, just saying.

Originally I wrote everything on my phone as a draft email and then copy and pasted it onto my pc as a Word doc. That gave me a word count. Now I use the Pages app on my phone and laptop. I still write everything on my phone and it instantly is also on my laptop. It gives me a continuous updated word count as I am actually writing. If I want to write using my laptop it goes immediately onto the app on my phone. Then copy and paste for submission.

You shouldn’t insult those people whose advice you are seeking. Read before replying and then read your reply before posting. More than once.
