Damaged People

Every snowflake utopianly longs for a melt-free world,
alas, tis not to be.
So, embrace your fate and go away, little snowflake,
melt.

Well, there is a lot of the Left here, Socialists, Progressive, Independent 'Centrists'
and they all have one thing in common; their political purview retards their maturation
into adulthood and they engage in the polity of...snark, anger and tantrum...

This is super triple layer cake rich coming from the schmuck who used to be the King Of Snark on here...and who never missed a beat to dance, prance and snark showoff his political fashion line on the stage of I'm Sooooo Clever, Are You Adept Enough To Figure Out My References?

(((LIPSTICK)))

;) ;)

The heat in the kitchen of political discourse has proven fatal to the nation's hapless snowflakes.:D

My original assessment stands, you’re damaged. Furthermore, you and your stories are crap.

"That should have been me!" I thought. "Why couldn't she be single for once? Why did she always have to be in a relationship? I wasn't! Doesn't she know we fought those people in the Vietnam War!" Picturing her in bed with that gook made me disgusted and angry. Was it too late to prevent my beloved Olivia from getting defiled before I could do it? I had to try. My pursuit of her was now more urgent than ever. Time was of the essence.

All I had to do was figure out how to take her from that Vietnamese, needle-dicked pre-med asshole.

Steering this thread back from the political detour...

There are always going to be people who dislike a particular story. Some will voice that opinion, and in a not-very-constructive way. Of course, the worst of them are downright malicious to not only the story itself, but the author as well.

Regarding those malicious commentors, it's a similar dynamic to those who intentionally troll stories to laugh at the reactions. It's very easy to hide behind the anonymity of a computer keyboard, where nobody knows the identity of the person making these comments.

Whilst I find it completely juvenile, it is what it is. No amount of complaining about it is ever going to change the situation.

oooooh thassa big-time yikes.

https://media1.giphy.com/media/3FBwwRCNTSa52/giphy.gif

I mean, creating a character in a story who's racist or bigoted or sexist is nothing new, but to do it terribly AND from a first-person POV? That's just passive-aggressively venting some personal shit.

Good ol' amateur erotica. One of the best beards for getting out xenophobic sociopathy under the umbrella of "fantasy."

The issue is not my stories, or anyone else's, it's the people who post anonymously. They obviously aren't trying to help. They must be frustrated writers who have no talent. They just want to tear down. Why else would they post anonymously?

Stick to the issue at hand.

Criticism is wonderful. I'm speaking of anonymous trolling. A totally different animal. Brighten up.

An anonymous opinion is not an honest opinion. It is a troll.

No, maybe if you had a modicum of reading comprehension you'd understand that I'm saying that anonymous commentators are actually the stalkers. That seems pretty futile to argue with, and only a fool would try.

dolf is most definitely not a fool.

You are a prickly pear.

Like life you are going to get people who yell boo or yay when we perform.

Life is too short to have a mini meltdown over some anonymous feedback.

Shrug it off, take the good feedback with the bad and write if it makes you happy and go forth and prosper. :)[/QUOTE

A. Dolf's comment was stupid.
B. I will assume he or she is a fool until he or she says something intelligent.
C. I'm not having a meltdown.
D. Anonymous commentators are trolls and nothing more.
E. Comments with a name attached are always appreciated.

Interesting. Your arrogance is only exceeded by your inability to perceive that from almost any comment a nugget of wisdom can be gleaned. I've been posting stories on the net for a long time and have had my share of anonymous comments. I read them, consider them, trying to sort the usable parts from the hog shit and if there is any thing contained in them that will help my writing, I adopt it.

For those that appear to be a troll trying to get a rise from me, I ignore them, because sometimes you have no control over any part of a situation so the best thing to do is smile and walk on. It keeps me calm and irritates the trolls.

You seem to get pretty spun up about those anonymous comments which leads me to believe you are either a fairly new writer unaccustomed to anonymous criticism, or perhaps you need to look at them with an unjaundiced eye to see if there is something of truth in them?

Deep breath....spit...smile...move on...

The comments were the best part of the stories. It's not supposed to be that way.

The classic thread of this genre: http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=167568

The thread starter was the immortal ScottX, who got more notoriety here for being a terrible fiction writer and an even worse liar than all but a few of the competent Lit authors have received. There's probably a message in there somewhere.

My intent isn't to play the knight in shining armor card, trying to be combative.
Just a discussion.

It's strange, because I didn't perceive the OP's post as the majority did.
I saw it as someone lashing out at some dicks who used the internet anonimity to attack or deride the author, instead of constructive criticism.

Because I remember reading quite a few authors complain about a certain culture in the comments section - anonymous trolls or peers enjoying dragging others down.

Finally a sensible comment.

My point exactly. People use "anonymous" simply to troll, attack, and denigrate. A lot of posters to this thread seem to think, despite my not ever saying it, that I'm extremely bothered by it. Not true. If I were, I would turn comments off.

My intention for starting the thread was simply to gauge the opinion of others as to the usefulness of this practice. My opinion is, for the most part, anonymous commentators are trolls. I was surprised to see how many people on here defended trolls and attackers.

To be clear as a bell: I don't have a problem with criticism. And I really don't even care if people on here, most of whom are not good critics or writers (based on their comments), feel the need to troll.

No, I haven't learned anything yet from an anonymous troll, but I have learned (including from this thread) that there are a lot of people on here who feel the need to make comments even though they lack basic reading comprehension skills.

In saying that, I missed this.

Did You write this gem, elrod?

story #1: 8 comments, 4 anonymous, 4 by name.

1 anonymous did not read it all, despite it being less than a page. the other 3 left negatives. all four named comments less than flattering. Only your own comment was positive, telling them to "keep reading".

My comment: It was barely a chapter of a story, basically telling me that you married Mary Sue from university and want her to have sex with someone else at the same time she pleasures you. OK.

Story #2: 8 Comments, 6 Anonymous, 2 by name.

None of the comments were positive, essentially they told you to stop and rethink the story line.

My comment: They are correct, at this point you have two chapters which do not equate a single chapter of a real story. You still are describing Mary Sue, but toss in a bunch of dates to either make her seem unobtainable or to make her worldly - your prose makes the choice irrelevant. The story is not entertaining me at this point and I would not continue reading were chapter 3 to be submitted.

Your writing is not that bad (not great either), but your story is that bad. It does not matter if comments are anonymous or by name, you should listen to them. It has nothing to do with the quality of authorship of the commentator, it has to do with the quality of your story, and I just spent 8 minutes more than they were worth in doing this review.

Really? How long have you been wandering the net? And you're just now learning that some remain anonymous just to be trolls? As far as being bothered by it, me thinks thou doth protest to much. If you truly weren't bothered by it, you'd ignore it and let it pass. You didn't and in fact you're going out of your way to make an issue of it. That's a hell of ways from not being bothered by it.

And despite your adamant protestations you do have a problem with criticism evidenced by:

1) Your out of hand dismissal of anonymous comments on the grounds they are anonymous. Sometimes people don't want to make a profile or be bothered to login. That doesn't mean they don't have something valuable to say. As I said before, a nugget of wisdom can be gleaned from almost any story comment. Apparently you have yet to develop that skill. And those which are true trolls, IGNORE THEM FFS!

2) Your close minded and butt hurt dismissal of those here making comments because you don't like them or don't agree with them. Put your arrogance on hold and try to see what others are telling you.

I read your stories. My comment is this: take a creative writing course. You need it badly. The story continuity, progression and character development were not very good.
