I can't think of any other source that makes a bigger contribution to the current level of noise than Twatter.

No other communication method is even close to its role in the "dumbing down" of America (and the world).

While humanity's "signal to noise ratio" has always been low, it has plumbed new depths with this entirely unnecessary addition to the noise level.

For that reason alone, I do not (and never will) have a Twatter account. It is quite telling that the primary users of Twatter are politicians and journalists (the very people that Mencken dismissively categorized as members of the "talking profession").

A large portion of 'em will do and say anything to get them, particularly the Wall Street crowd and political junkies. Both have no notion of honesty or integrity, viewing such as quaint ideas held by foolish innocents.


It's no coincidence that a large proportion of their residents are transients who are located there for the sole purpose of getting rich or accumulating power. Because they're transients, they have no consideration for the long term or consequences.


Such people are easily corruptible and never to be trusted.
