According to our so-called attorney general, there's an "assault" on religious values in this country by "militant secularism" led by the latest bugaboo, progressives.

Mind you, the opposite of progress is regress, but Barr will have none of it. It's those darn progressives which caused the con artist to pay women to have multiple affairs on his third wife. It's progressives which are causing white supremacists espousing Christian values to attack mosques and people not white. It's progressives causing priests and ministers and rabbis to rape boys. It's progressives causing white males to become angry and alienated because . . . well, because Sanji the doctor is taking their job while they bury their heads in their phones. Forget personal responsibility, it's those damn progressives.

Needless to say, it's progressives preventing people from worshipping which is why the government needs to violate the First Amendment to the Constitution. Because without violating the Constitution, religion will collapse in this country, so the taxpayers will have to foot the bill to make sure those disposed to worship can continue to do so without the rampant, daily assaults.

We will ignore the fact it's only one religion who keeps whining their religion is under assault despite their adherents routinely assaulting someone else's religion and trying to prevent those people from practicing their beliefs. This same religion is allowed to discriminate because their book says so while claiming theirs is the one and only religion in this country and also being the largest in the country. When it comes to those other religions, well, they don't matter. They're not part of the one true religion so they don't enter into the discussion.

Good question:

Answer: Lies are all they have. So lost in the lie that they don't even know when they are lying.

Attorney General Barr Rages Against Secularist Assault On Religion

AG William Barr Blames Societal Problems on “Ascendancy of Secularism”

It’s frightening to realize the nation’s top lawyer can’t handle basic logic.
Then again, he thought working for Donald Trump would be a wise career
move, so his irrationality isn’t exactly news. The fact that Barr, Trump’s
partner in scandal, thinks religion makes him a better person should be
reason enough to discount both.

In any case, Barr is wrong. The lack of religion isn’t to blame for society’s ills.
As we’ve said so many times before on this site, the least religious nations in
the world tend to have lower rates of violence, more prosperity, better human
rights, higher life expectancy, greater educational opportunities, and more
freedom.

Religion hasn’t fixed our problems. It’s exacerbated them,
in part because followers are prone to irrational thinking.
They’d rather preserve tradition than find a better approach
to our problems.

bodysong comment- This leads me back to thinking about
when Muslims were the administrators of parts of Spain.
Christians, followers of the Jewish traditions, and Muslims
lived together in relative peace. The Christians destroyed the peace,
and everyone was made to suffer. Instead of life and living, a death
cult was constructed to replace the rule of the Muslims. Torture,
suffering, imprisonment, and death became an industry.

Born in the city of Toledo, the capital of the Kingdom of Castile, on
November 6, 1479 Joanna was the third child and second daughter of
Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon of the royal House of
Trastamara. Her parents’ marriage, along with the conquest of Granada
in 1492, united and formed Spain as we know it today.

Her parents were exceptionally renowned for their faith,
completing the 1492 Reconquista that ordered the conversion or exile of their
Muslim and Jewish subjects and establishing the Spanish Inquisition in 1478
to maintain Catholic orthodoxy.

The madness of Phillip II

Phillip II believed he had a genuine claim to the English throne,
both by descent from John of Gaunt, and as Queen Mary I's
husband. The purpose of the mission was to depose Elizabeth,
put Mary, Queen of Scots, then Isabella, on the throne, and
make England Roman Catholic once again.

Phillip II bankrupted Spain, and stripped the land bare, to
build his navy for the great Armada of 1588. The ships
waiting for the battle rotted in harbors. By the time the battle
took place, they were in no shape to sail.

Religious fanatacism drove him to destroy Spain.

Says the person who lies every time they say something which they know is completely untrue.

There's only 91 million posts on this board. Can't you do math?

Your argument implies that the best kind of country to live in would be an atheist state. So two great examples of atheist states are China today and the late Soviet Union. From what you know of those countries would you really want to live there? It is easy to understand why an atheist state would be disastrous in which to reside. Man has an innate spiritual side to his nature that demands a belief in a supreme spiritual being. Thus if you outlaw God as did the two states mentioned, then you need to substitute God to keep your citizens in line. Ergo the substitute to God would be the State. I think you can discern that such option automatically leads to the most intolerable living conditions possible.

"Freedom of religion" was misspelled it should read "freedom FROM religion" Religion requires belief, not facts. Religion requires obedience to the priesthood. Not very democratic, as seen by 2000 odd years of the Catholic Church.:(
