TSCLT 8.0: Jesus Hates A Pussy

I wonder if they ever really look at themselves?

Perusing a sporting goods store sales flyer that just came out I ran across items such as a flashlight with no other special functions that's on sale for $99.99.

A Nikon P-308 rifle scope on sale for $250. Nikon discontinued that model 2 years ago and if you don't mount it on a 24" barreled 308 Win. the features are mostly useless.

A wifi enabled spotting scope. I suppose that one is going to be a hot seller to the crowd addicted to their phones.

The wifi enabled scope might be useful at match shooting, if you wish to display the long range target on a monitor for the audience. It could put long range shooting on the map as a sport worth watching, the way the super-puff clays made international skeet a television sport.

I'm hitting it early - or early enough. The time zone change makes getting there earlier a bit easier.

I'll be traveling pretty light by necessity.

I think we turned a corner with punchlist production today. The biggest bitch is, we would have smaller lists is production did a better job of finishing shit.

I'm grazing in and crashing earlier, I think.

Because I've lived all over the country people are unable to place my origin or even any of the places that I've lived.

Because of multiple cross-country moves in my childhood and I'm a natural mimic I start picking up a flavor of whoever I'm speaking with. I really make a concerted effort not to do that because I don't want anyone to think that I am making fun of their in foreign or regional affectation.

I was talking to an engineer that by his physical appearance and accent, I would assume that he was likely born in India, but educated here and he has lkely been here long enough that it's more of a flavor than a strong accent.

Not something that I would have mentioned. So it was kind of amusing that he said to me do I detect a trace of an accent from somewhere else?

I gave him the outlines of where I had lived and what those influences likely were and he explained that he thought that I was a UK expat, doing a good job of sounding American..

Happy Friday!!!

I have always been pleased that I don't sound like the traditional accent of where I'm from/was fetched up or of where Mom is from. I guess that listening to Dad had its influence after all.

Today is road trip day, finally. Got some loading to do, and some preparations form three furballs.

This should be good . . . .

Garage Full of Rare Mopar Gold!

We got side-tracked after following a lead on a sweet Challenger somewhere in the woods of northwest Jersey. We did eventually find the owner of that E-Body, and in return he told us of tales of a massive muscle collection not too far from where we were standing. Soon after that revelation, we were at Al Decarolis’ farmstead, knocking on his barn door. His collection of rare muscle did not disappoint in the slightest, as Al’s personal stash of Mopars and Brand X gems is a sight to behold and then some. Al tells it: “I bought my first ride when I was 15—a 1965 Coronet with a 426ci wedge, but I couldn’t drive it legally on the streets yet since I was underage. But it did start my love affair with Pentastar products. The day I turned 17 and got my license, I bought a 1969 Charger R/T 440/four-speed car. I was now off and running.” Since then it’s been one car after another, building a solid collection of top-tier rides along the way. He’s an amasser of the highest degree, with cars, parts, and parts cars on display at his 150-acre property. Inside his spacious garage is the cream of his crop, though some quality rides can be found outside. He has a lust for anything with muscle, though he is particularly fond of his 1971 Challenger 440/six-pack—one of three similarly motivated Challengers he has. And there’s the 1970 Hemi Challenger that he’s restoring that’s now ready for the 426 Hemi installation. Other highlights: a super-rare 440/six-barrel Roadrunner drop-top, a low-mileage survivor 1970 Hemi ’Cuda, an original-paint L78 Nova, and an LS6 Chevelle basted in Cranberry Red. Yes, all of you muscle heads can drool now. The good news here is not only is Al a great guy who has great taste and killer cars, he might also be looking to off a few. You can reach him at fastcaralan57@gmail.com.

I suppose you have a speech all ready for the fur balls about behaving themselves, etc. :D

Not even going to make a show of it? ;)

I need a farm with a barn where I can stash stuff.

I come from a place where there is no accent.
We actually talk like people sing...

I noticed this when I was very young
when the Beatles stopped sounding like blokes

and blended into the way we'all talk...

My accent is mild but it's there. I was travelling several years ago and ran into a detroiter, we talked for a bit and later the person I was travelling with said no one else understood what she was saying. Hearing accents is a different skill as well.

Rumor has it that Paul had to relearn the Liverpudlian accent before the Queen would knight him. :)

Good morning folks.

Rained all day yesterday but today is promising to be sunny and relatively cool, high in the 70's.

Questions for the day. Did SC get that squirrel? Did Wat get a good nights sleep?

:)

I did not get a squirrel, but a friend here was warned about
multiple identical posts, but a friend of Laurel is spamming us
so I am spending the morning spamming her over her "buddy..."

I mean, honestly, justice should be applied with a blindfold.
