What I want, and I doubt that I'm alone here, is to fix the insane provisions in our immigration laws that single out Latin American immigration for tighter restrictions by far than most. If you reform the laws, then it is highly likely that the vast majority of immigrants will have no trouble complying with them. I note that no Republicans since McCain or Bush have even seriously contemplated reform of the high discriminatory and racist immigration laws currently on the books.
Face it, it was never about "legal vs. illegal" immigration, anyway. It was never about the rule of law. It was never about law enforcement. It was about blaming and scapegoating Latin American immigrants for the practices of Big Business rather than blaming Wall Street, who deserves the blame for their use of slave labor.
