I did. Who knows exactly what the whistleblower overheard. Mudd said he was listening to calls all of the time, so you can scratch spying from your post. He also said it would be a different matter if Trump broke the law. Congress did not go tot the whistleblower, the law dictated the exact opposite. I’m sure Mudd is a firm believer in the rule of law.
You forgot the rest of what he said, It isn't the job of the Intel Community to listen to presidential calls and talk about them to the Congress. There is a such thing as separation of powers in the Constitution.
The Intel Community has ZERO oversight authority over the President and his conversations with foreign leaders. We don't know who this "whistleblower" is or what his motivations are but it will become known. This will prove out to be another deep state attack on the President that goes nowhere except to the headlines in the Democrat press.
Mudd, a political enemy of the President, also said the President can say anything he wants. I will add, these conversations are privileged, just as the President has no right to know what goes on with the communications of the Congress, they have no right to know what the President says or what his state of mind is in his private conversations with anyone.
The other point is, it is a fallacy that the President can break the law by releasing classified information. He is the legal final arbiter of what is classified and what isn't. He can declassify anything by simply ordering it declassified or by talking about it, "he" is the CnC, not the Congress.
So the whole premise that he did something illegal is aimed at the ignorant and will go nowhere, just like every one of the Democrat and Deep State attempts to undermine this President.
The President is not above the law, he's not below it either. There is no "legislative purpose" behind the Democrat demand for his taxes. New York passed that law solely to help congressional democrats to attack the President.
The Congress has no right to his tax information under federal law without a legitimate legislative purpose. They have produced no evidence of a any crime that would justify probable cause to seize his taxes. This is a political fishing expedition aimed at continuing the coup against his presidency.
