"This was a very serious attack on Saudi Arabia and the oil installations and it has implications for global oil markets and supply," Raab said. "It's a very serious, an outrageous act, and we need to have a clear and as united as possible international response to it."

Well, this sounds like there’s a possibility of a strike on Iran in the near future.

Hi. Totally agree with you. Today morning I read some article about Trump allows using of strategic oil reserves to keep all those things under control :)

We’ll see. Prices usually start going up when bombs start falling, though.

Trump did not name the suspect, but Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted earlier, "Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply."

I would wager supporters of the Green New Deal cheer the attack.

I have a full tank.

No worries mate.

Looks like President Trump knows what he is doing
and President Obama clearly did not possess a clue.

Now, pay close attention to the Democrat Candidates...

I would think they are all focused on impeaching Brett Kavanaugh at the moment, but that can change with the wind.

You do not win an election by pursuing impeachment.

The average voter wants to know what you are going to do for them,
not what you are going to do to someone else.

This is what liberals get completely wrong.
They think in terms of retribution.

"We're going to get those fucking WHITE people!
"But..., I'm white..."

Somewhere the Democrats lost the message of JFK in the shuffle.

Kinda like a “Casper” look going, huh?

Moving back on topic.

The Trump administration released satellite images Sunday night as evidence that drone attacks on major Saudi oil sites over the weekend came from Iraq or Iran, as it made its case that Tehran was to blame.

This may be a case where Iran's "war by proxy" is going to backfire on their ass. A drone attack over the distances required to pull this off, with a drone big enough to carry any meaningful amount of explosives, and with the precision required is far beyond the technology of the Yemeni rebels. I don't doubt that the rebels launched and guided the drones, but some party, most likely Iran, had to supply the equipment, training, and intelligence on the ground. Iran gets to claim "plausible deniability" but their fingerprints are all over this.

China is one of the few supporters Iran has on the international stage and they can't be all to pleased about this event. The trade war with the US has their economy in contraction and higher oil prices is the last thing they need. Russia will enjoy the higher prices but will more or less keep on the sidelines so as not to irritate the Chinese.

The question is, "What can the US do about it?" You're looking at upsetting the world economy here. Iran is far more capable today than it was in the 1980's when it was at war with Iraq. They are capable of making a mess in the straits of Hormuz, at least for a while. Long enough to panic world markets. They just don't have "staying power", meaning they don't have the weapons inventory or platforms to sustain an offensive. Of critical importance is the fact that their Air Force is a joke. It would cease to exist within a few hours of any hostilities breaking out. And while they do have some capable air defense systems, they don't have enough and we know where they are an how they operate. They too will cease to exist rather quickly. The Allied forces would have established air superiority within hours.

This attack was a desperate measure undertaken by desperate, and petulant, men. The consequences were not well thought through.

It won’t take long for China to raise their voice in the issue and side with Iran.
It’s not like they haven’t got enough pots on the fire now with: Hong Kong, the South China Sea, a trade war, India, a slowing economy, etc.

Nope. A red cast about me...

I'm never white.

The Jews struck them this last week.

When you create enemies (due to religion),
you get fucking enemies.

China is in a Catch 22 here. They'd much rather be buying cheap Iranian oil than going to the spot market. Their economy will suffer greatly if world oil supplies are disrupted, far more than other nations. How the Chinese play this publicly is one thing, how they play it privately is another. Their economy cannot withstand prolonged hostilities in the region.

I’m interested in seeing how it all plays out. China is dependent on foreign oil as it is.

It could be time for Democrats to put that aside and come out in support the enemy.:D
