"Fred's opened its first store in 1947 in Mississippi. It later expanded its footprint across the United States with the idea of becoming a value-focused retailer and drug store. It sells both private labels and national brands.

Fred's is the latest store to enter bankruptcy or to completely shut its doors. Forever 21, Barney's, Charming Charlie, Payless Shoes and Gymboree have all had reports of or confirmed financial difficulties this year.

This year, retailers have announced 8,000 stores closures — and counting. That number already exceeds last year's total of 5,864 closure announcements, according to a report from Coresight Research. The firm forecasts as many as 12,000 stores will close by the end of the year."

My cat got hit by a car. Can you find a way to blame THAT on Trump?

Retail stores are suffering and it has NOTHING to do with Trump. You can blame that on Amazon and all the other online retail outlets.

"OH!!! The sun just went behind the clouds!!! It's that bastard Trump's fault!!!"

It's not just Trumpikins that is causing the Booming Economy. Rethug's in general have played a major part in these explosions of bankruptcies.

...

Clearly, your cat got hit because Trump rolled back Obama era auto safety and animal protection policies. Duh.

In 2019, the economy is great. The U.S. labor market has added more than 6.3 million new jobs since President Donald J. Trump was elected. In fact, there continue to be more jobs open in America than there are people looking for work. Unemployment is the lowest it has been since the end of 1969. And the unemployment rate for African-Americans, Hispanics, people with disabilities and military veterans is the lowest ever recorded for each category.

At the same time, wages are up. The Bureau of Economic Analysis recently published its annual revisions to personal income data showing that employee compensation rose 4.5 percent in 2017 and 5 percent in 2018. The trend continued in 2019 as compensation rose 3.4 percent during the first six months.

S. Walker, Acknowledging Trump's robust economy, Washington Times (Aug. 8, 2019).

Women’s participation in the workforce rose to 76.3 percent — the highest level since 2002.

Hispanic unemployment remains at a record low.

The unemployment rate for African Americans fell to a historic low.

Americans also saw bigs gains in their wages. Pay grew 3.2 percent year-over-year, achieving 3 percent growth for the 13th consecutive month....

Overall labor participation rose, to 63.2 percent.

August also marked the 18th consecutive month that unemployment registered at or below four percent. It remains at a 50-year low, making it the most impressive jobs rebound in half a century.

J. Kerns, ‘Racist’ Trump Just Keeps Delivering Economic Gains For Women And Minorities, Daily Caller (Sep. 8, 2019).

But growth in household income, which includes earnings and all other sources of cash, largely stalled after three years of steady growth. Census officials said they could not readily identify the cause.

In addition, about 27.5 million residents, or 8.5% of people, did not have health insurance in 2018, an increase of almost 2 million from the year before when 7.9% of people lacked coverage, the Census Bureau said.

Some of the largest jumps in the uninsured occurred among Hispanic children, among middle-class families with incomes well above the poverty line, and in electoral battlegrounds like Michigan and Ohio. The number of uninsured in those states rose by 25,000 and 58,000, respectively.

Along with Michigan and Ohio, the other states where healthcare coverage declined included Texas, Arizona, Idaho, Tennessee and Alabama, all of which voted for Trump in 2016.

But the benefits seem to have centered in the country’s metropolitan areas, which are more likely to vote Democratic.

According to regional data released by the Census, median household income inside major U.S. cities grew by a statistically significant 5.4%. Outside those urban areas, in the rural and suburban regions where Trump’s support is strongest, household income barely changed.

The Payless Shoes does make me wonder. Although it's not a place I shopped at often, there didn't seem to be many customers when I did go in there. I did buy some sandals there back in the 80's but my then roommate stole them when she moved out. I don't think I bought anything else for myself in there until maybe 16 years or so ago. Again, sandals that are Keen kinockoffs. I still have them but they're not very comfortable and rather bulky so I rarely wear them.

I did occasionally buy stuff for my daughter from them in past years. They seem to have been most popular for kid's shoes. I have seen posts all over Facebook from people claiming they have nowhere to shop for kids's shoes now.

Where DO people buy kid's shoes now? I have no clue. My kid is now 21. Both of us bought stuff from Forever 21 but never in the brick and mortar store. Only online.

These days she seems to get a lot of stuff from Old Navy or Torrid. I also like Torrid for panties but... For the most part, I rarely see things that I like, whether shoes or clothing. The styles just don't appeal. A lot of what I see seems just plain and boring. Hmmm... What is the world coming to?

I seem to be suffering from far too much caffeine. Methinks I'll go wander into another thread now. Hehehe.

So now you want to play child games again? Go play with yourself.

If you can't respond with a modicum of intelligence and maturity I have no use for you at all. Maybe you and Little Danny can be friends.

After jaF0 intentionally misquoted him in a post, My I wrote:

Which jaF0 changed to...

If you can't respond with raging blind praise for the Russian Don, I have no use for you at all.
No worries. I'll never do that.

I have noticed how many leftists here resort to changing what conservatives have posted in supposed quotes, rather than respond to actual conservative arguments. I find this telling of who has the stronger and more logical positions.

Have you failed to notice how the conservatives almost always respond to something substantially different from what the progressives actually said?

I'm not sure how you mean that.

Please point to an example or two.

So correcting you on the stupid bullshit you post, like most of JaFo's is misquoting you?

Trump says he wants to send illegal aliens back where they came from and the Left says he hates Mexicans.

I say I think Al Sharpton is an asshole and the left says that's racist.

We explain what Racism is and left says "we're redefining the word."

That is the main tactic of the Left these days. Twist the truth til it fits what you want. And when all else fails it's because of Russian collusion.

That and ad-hominem are the only things they've got.

I find this telling of who has the stronger and more logical positions.

Quite.

Just look at literally anything Dumpington has ever said to any of us.

LOL!!!! :D

It's nowhere near that simple and you know it.

It really is, you're just to partisan to admit it. ;)

At times it gets even more absurd as demonstrated here, all over social media and the MSM.

Trump: I love immigrants, but you've got to come in legally.

The Left: That's racist, Trump hates brown people and they're dying in his concentration camps, Trump is literally Hitler.

I'm guessing you have no mirrors in that glass house you live in?

And then accuse the right of doing what you really are doing. Mueller WAS a witch hunt that was based a FAKED report by a foreign spy who was PAID by Hillary to write it. Hillary's e-mails??? That has been PROVEN with actual HARD EVIDENCE. Her e-mails have been recovered. Her excuse? The Russians did it.

So, please, grow up and stop with the "I know you are but what am I?" That got old a long time ago.

Even assuming that is his rhetorical style (and I neither deny nor agree that it is), you cannot base your claim on the behavior of a single individual. Would you want us to equate all leftists to laughable simpletons like dan_c00000 or KeithD?

No, but you stupidly do so anyway. :D

Actually, I'll take that back. I don't give a shit what you equate anything to. You don't interest me.
