Heh, heh. The thing is, after working at a psychiatric hospital dealing with desperate and manipulative addicts, I know what they’re capable of. I gave this woman a fair amount of money, and now I’m afraid she may think she can come back for more. She kissed me in a pickup truck while her shady-looking boyfriend was driving. I’d rather not tangle with him.

People can be so rude. I invited a family to an event, and the immediate response was “is it free?” (Which, knowing the event, clearly wouldn’t be) but I replied yes, and sent a photo of a pile of already purchased tickets. The response was a gasping emoji. That was yesterday, the event is tomorrow. I guess that’s a no then.

I'm starting to think we need a demerit/suspension system around here for people whose initial reaction to anything is to call someone out and be bitchy. If you've got to be that way, take it to PM. Everyone is sick of seeing it and people are leaving because of it. I don't care who started it or which side you're on. Yeah, I know who's going to disagree with me and guess what? I don't care.

I’m fearful of something more violent than that. I made a really bad, sleep-deprived decision today. This woman came on to me apparently conning me to score money for drugs. But she said we’d met before, and I don’t remember it. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m the crazy one. She momentarily beguiled me, but there’s definitely no way in hell I’m going to have a relationship with her. I am truly confused about the whole situation.

For me, I think the key thing is that I forget empathy. I know people who seem to possess a magical warmth, but I have had to work hard to try to get there.
