Store clerk convicted of killing thief

Apparently getting rid of criminals isn't a thing any more.

The state is dealing with the criminal. The victim's family had to bury their son.

Shoplifting/petty theft is not a capital offense. Hunting someone down and shooting them in the back ... well ....

Shooting someone over two dollars worth of beer does seem pretty excessive. However, I believe second degree murder does too, as opposed to something like voluntary manslaughter.

He hunted the kid down and shot him. That's fucking first degree in my book.

No surprise that the various and sundry BBs support Sharia Law.

I had the impression he just stood in the doorway and fired. There was no hunting and minimal pursuit. I also have some doubt that killing was the intention, because the wounds were to the thief's legs.

Kinda sad that it's so unsurprising from the hypocrisy posse.

The underclass in America are the biggest proponents of violence as a first option. They live most of their lives in a constant state of fear, especially of "Those People".

Yeah, you shoot someone three fucking times if you intend to wound them.

Ghazali pulled out a handgun and followed him, firing several times. He didn't call the police, but told a witness as he returned to the store, "I think I shot him."

That must've been some long-ass doorway he just stood in busting shots out of if he had to return to the store from it.

I also have some doubt that killing was the intention, because the wounds were to the thief's legs.

Harris was shot at least three times and was left to bleed out, Fowler said. His body was found two days later in a yard near the store with gunshots in the back of his thigh, Weirich said."

Yeah, Ghazali was a supreme deadeye marksman who clearly targeted Harris' legs so as to wound him enough for immobilization so that police could arrive directly afterwards to apprehend Harris and take him to the hospital, which is what happened and how justice in this country operates, without flaw.

Your gift of minimizing everything obvious and re-engineering reality to your worldview is an amazing talent from Heaven that should not be taken for granted. You should use those powers for the collective good of humanity, I think.

More lies and ascription from another super secure “progressive” leftist.

I don’t support Sharia law.

I just hate thieves, especially ones lame enough to get caught.

Yes, thieves are scum.

But the law is fairly clear that shooting is only justified in protection of life, and shooting a fleeing thief is not justifiable, even for a police officer; although a police officer would have known to follow up the wounded man and plant a firearm on his body in order to justify the shooting.

See the Michael Brown case: Store owner called police over theft of minor items, police caught up with suspect and finished him off, all perfectly legal.

The article says Harris walked out the door and Ghazalii followed him, but not how far he followed him. Harris was found "near the store" which would mean there was little or no pursuit. When Ghazali returned to the store, it could just as well have been from right in front of the building.

The shooting happened in March 2018, after Dorian Harris walked out of the Top Stop Shop with a beer without paying, Weirich said.

It was a proper sentence, even given the sparsity of details. Even if the kid was armed he was no longer a threat to the clerk and was leaving the scene. The clerk has no legitimate defense.

Over a beer?
Clearly motivated by racism, and I doubt that a White racist would have done that.
So much for the Intersectionality theory promoted by the Left.

In saying that, I doubt that he wanted to kill him, he aimed for the legs.
But that doesn't make the crime much less heinous.

Here's a question: how many other crimes had the criminal committed before this one? How many more would he have committed during his lifetime?

Was this his first criminal act?

Also, why did it take two days for someone to find the body? Where were his friends and family when they hadn't heard from him for two days?

The twist here is that if he had just called it in, got medical help, there might not have been the same charges. Maybe something lesser.

Indeed.

There ya go, folks!
Who ya gonna believe? Botany Boy or your own lyin' eyes?

That must be why you had to deceptively edited my response
