Got anything more recent than 2001?

Yup, the line just moves over to the right, more. That chart was just easy to find and link and time is important.

But, If you're really interesting in knowing what's going on, you could read a few papers. But, if you're not, nothing will change your mind. Don't read the news as reporters aren't always accurate. Read some journals.

The Siberian permafrost releasing all that methane is not good. Or, for that matter Alaskan and Canadian, too.

The Yamal methane releases are totally fucking awesome! But, you might want to be a mile or so away.

Or some conference papers:

"Changes in Permafrost and Active-layer Temperatures along an Alaskan Permafrost-Ecological Transect" by: Vladimir E. Romanovsky, et.al. That's a good 2015 paper by my friend Vlad.

[Andrew] BOLT: WE MUST DOUBT DISTURBED TEEN’S CLIMATE DOGMA

I have never seen a girl so young and with so many mental disorders treated by so many adults as a guru

What is so fascinating about this Thunberg cult is not just that she’s believed so fervently even though she’s wrong.

But Thunberg has something very rare as well — a sense of absolute certainty. She shows not the slightest doubt and forgives not the slightest compromise. This allows followers who are tormented with doubt and burden of freedom to relax into her totalitarian certainty.

And in Thunberg’s case, that certainty comes from what normally would be seen as a disability.

If we can believe a book by her mother, opera soprano and Eurovision contestant Malena Ernman, Thunberg went two months without eating when she was 11.

She suffered years of depression and anxiety attacks and was finally diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, high-functioning autism, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Her intense fear of the climate is not surprising from someone with disorders which intensify fears.

Child Prophets and Proselytizers of Climate Catastrophe

"...The culture sponsoring Greta’s pitch to authorities is characterized here. The core narrative of this culture, propagated for decades by numerous authority sources from a raft of the highest in the world downwards, is a high certainty of imminent (decades) global climate catastrophe. Greta’s words leave no doubt that her pitch is driven by this narrative, so b) is a ‘yes’. Notwithstanding some secondary claims of current harms, Greta’s pitch mainly concerns future and overwhelmingly greater damage, albeit she emphasizes imminence (to ‘irreversible’). So, c) is ‘future’. Where the main event is clearly occurring already, this cannot be a cultural fear; for a projected future occurrence, it could be (although even in the former case, causality could potentially still be attributed to a fairy tale). Regarding d), Greta does dictate a solution and also a timescale. Answering e) involves subjective views. However, although Greta takes climate catastrophe, the ‘sacrifice of civilization and the biosphere’, for granted in her short UN speech, her longer UK and French pitches cite the IPCC as confirming this catastrophe. But the IPCC science doesn’t support a high certainty of imminent (decades) global climate catastrophe. [Note: this confirms the assumption from observed social characteristics per the above link, i.e. the policed central narrative of catastrophism is emotively emergent, aka wrong]. Applying this benchmark, Greta’s solution is geared to address emotive invention and not reality. This is indeed irrational; e) is a ‘yes’. On f), Greta is pitching to world authorities, and her ask for the world is astronomical. To fix imminent global apocalypse requires humanity’s largest behavioral / infrastructure adaptation since the industrial revolution, maybe since the invention of farming, on essentially a crash timescale. Whatever policies mainstream science might call for, it doesn’t justify this radicality. Greta shows no respect to leadership plus claims they (generically) lied; emotive conviction to the catastrophic no doubt makes this seem irrefutable..."

Meanwhile, in real news, not hooey ....

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Rapidly rising water levels in the Great Lakes are damaging shorelines and creating uncertainty for lakeshore residents.

Duluth has dealt with three major storms on Lake Superior in less than two years, with the latest hitting last October. The city’s construction project supervisor, Mike LeBeau, said high water levels are making the storms even more destructive, Minnesota Public Radio News reported . Duluth officials estimate total damage from the three storms at nearly $30 million.

“It’s been hard for the city to catch its breath, frankly,” LeBeau said.

Around the Great Lakes, beaches have disappeared, docks have been submerged and the shoreline is eroding. Lake levels began rising rapidly in 2014. This summer, lakes Erie and Ontario reached their highest levels ever recorded, thanks to months of abnormally wet weather keeping stream flows into the Great Lakes well above average. Lake Superior, meanwhile, has set new monthly records.

In a basic historical geology class, you learn that lakes are temporary geologic features.

Cousins?

:p

But, of course, beaches form and wash away.

A few years back they were worried about Great Lakes low levels.

Not enough rain, too much rain......

In the 10 months I spent in the Bay Area, 3 were drought where we flushed the toilet with the shower water and 3 were where they were constantly worried all the dams holding the reservoirs would fail.

Go figure.

Hey...we are pretty good...kinda... at a 3 day forecast.

He's 78...

Ive known a few welders by trade.

I suppose there are factors involved, like anything.

Career welder, indoors, every day?

Freelance guy who has a truck and mainly works in fresh air?

Or.. factory?

Any way.... welding is good to know...mg, tig, straight up arc...

Even some brazing with a torch.
