That's a cropped version of the original. I've considered using a more cropped version -- focused just on their faces -- as an avatar. I have another antique photo as a another alternative.

I love antique porn. The best of it, from my point of view, is very romantic. The rest of it isn't very different from modern porn, except that it tells me that we haven't changed. Humans are humans. Our sexual fantasies have changed with context, but at the bottom line we are still who we've always been and will always be.

Some of the Italian and French painters and sculptors going back to the Renaissance had those same ideas as well. It always amazes me to see what they got away with when creating art for wealthy families or even the Church.

There is erotica dating back as far as you want to go. Paintings and etchings from the Renaissance, can be very explicit but I think it's stylized. It's very "classical" and not very romantic. The modern concept of romance in a sexual context seems pretty recent, and largely abandoned in modern porn.

Pictures from the twenties and early thirties include some the most erotic images I've seen.

I suggest you go to it, Mags. :rose:

As to ancient pornography, the Turin papyrus dates to about 1100 BC (give or take a century), and is full of sexual merrymaking.

And to think that some 'youngsters [still] think that the y invented sex. . . .
Sheesh !

“Hey, have you heard about this new position called ‘the wheelbarrow?’ It’s all the rage on Tumblr!”

For some reason my phone tried to auto fill “wheel” with “wheelbarrowing.” That’s a hell of a verb.

That's why I have my 'auto-correct' stuff set to OFF.

Coffee, life giving coffee.

On my third triple espresso, and finally beginning to feel somewhat human. As much as I ever do, anyway.

I never understood the fascination with coffee. Then again, my preference for Dr Pepper isn't understood by others either. :)

Diet Dr Pepper, the second life giving Liquid. :rose:

Although beer and wine gives it a close race.

Summer colds suck and not in a good way.

I guess my ignorance of those beverages stems from my Dutch Christian Reformed background.

And yes, summer colds suck. Get better. :rose::kiss:

Iced cold brew here.

Smoooooth. But it’s still a 72-degree dewpoint.

Ye gods, Tx, not DIET anything.
Lets have the original stuff, not some chemists idea of a modern soda (BTW, ours is made by the CocaCola Company).

To my mind the second life-giving liquid is Tea.
A good strong brew is just the thing for a hot day;
[and it's also very good on a cold day !]

Sob I'll have a mug of tea please.

I once drank about two thirds of a bottle of coke; I was about 13 at the time. Never drank Pepsi or Dr Pepper. But have made up for it with almost continuous consumption of tea (Sri Lankan black mostly) and regular coffee - at least 2 mugs per day.

To my mind, tea is necessary to support life, while coffee is an essential pleasure. :)

I used to drink coke but the acid in it almost killed me. I switched to Dr Pepper and occasionally root beer. Then they diagnosed the diabetes and I went to diet. Diet Dr Pepper is the lesser of the evils.

Tea is good but the caffeine in it effects me more than the caffeine in coffee. Strong tea gives me the jitters.

Fresh coffee for the evening crew.

I'm the same way. There are times you just can't beat a nice mug of tea, and when it's iced it's very fine. But too much tea makes me queasier than too much coffee, and the occasional heartburn is worse with tea than with coffee.

I wonder why. I've always read that tea is weaker than coffee, caffeine-wise.

Depends on the type of tea, and how you brew it. I most often drink Chinese or Japanese teas, and don’t brew them too strong. But an English or Irish breakfast tea brewed as I’ve generally encountered it can be as strong as most strong coffees.

Ah.

I do like my teas a little oversteeped, probably.

As an undergrad, I did all-nighters with chocolate and strong tea. I discovered espresso in grad school.

I must admit, I like a good strong cup of either plain black tea or Earl Grey at times. Particularly if I'm feeling crook with a cold for some reason.

Today is not that day! Another coffee thanks.

My coffee background is very limited, for which I've always been grateful. Millennials might be surprised to hear it, but before 2000 or so specialty coffees weren't all that normal in large swaths of the US, and modern kids who get hooked on "coffee" that isn't really proper coffee are bound to be disappointed once the world runs out of French hazelnut syrup.

Me? I started in the Army, with strong tarlike coffee from a percolator that got refreshed once every couple of days, if then. So my bar is low. I can be quite happy without sugar or cream, and certainly without some daft little shape drawn in the foam.

I never did all-nighters in college. Not for studies anyway.

Anyone want to proof read a Hermaphrodite story?
