Silly question for the ladies on Garters

I'm 60 and it's been years since I was with a woman wearing a garter belt and stockings. In most photos I see today, they have the garter belt on OVER the panties-thong-whatever.

In the old days, the "undies" went on last so they could be easily removed for playtime, while still enjoying the visual of the garters and stocking.

Have things changed that much?

When I wear stockings suspenders j always put the suspenders on first then the stockings, finally I put my knickers on..If it's the other way round,then you cant wear them for long can you,just for show,not for wearing

Disclaimer: I've never worn a garter belt. Usually I go without stockings entirely, or wear pantyhose if I need to be dressy.

However, I thought back long, long ago when garter belts were an everyday thing and not a sexy-time fetish thing, the normal way to wear them was panties underneath and garters on top ... .

Great to see a gentleman as old as I am that remembers garter belts and stockings. I can remember when pantyhose first came out and one of my fraternity brothers complained. "I like when I can stick my hand up a girl's skirt and feel some leg and get my finger wet. Those damned pantyhose are a royal pain." LOL!!

sissy loves to wear garter belts & Stockings, that feeling when they cross the a.. is terrific.
The garter should be worn under the panty, that way it is easier to utilize the facilities without having to remove everything.

Most of the time, my legs are bare. When I wear stockings, it is usually pantyhose. However, once in a while I wear garters and stockings. In that case, my panties always go on over the garters. This is not just for easy access for fun, it makes it a lot easier when I have to pee. I guess wearing the garters over panties would work if the garters were long enough, but mine are not. Worst thing about garters under panties is when you pull your panties back up, they sometimes get hung up on the clips.

For me it's practicallity. Panties over suspenders makes peeing much easier throughout the day. I don't like tights (pantyhose) for the same reason, too much faff pulling them up and down when I need a pee. I've never felt comfy in hold ups so always use a suspender belt, clincher or basque with stockings. Must admit it also makes playtime easier and fun more spontaneous!

In practical life, panties on last so sex and the bathroom are easier. In "boudoir" photography and video, Panties on under garters is a cleaner look.
