good!

we even got a nice downpour this morning but right now it's shining. we could use more rain but 'ouisiana and ole miss are being greedy :(
 
3 out side 90-minute gigs tomorrow and Sunday. I think I'm saying no to all outside gigs next summer. its gonna be fucking hot out there.
 
lovely big glass bowl of sweet watermelon cubes and fresh blueberries in the fridge. H has just gone to get me some red peppers since we don't have any red ones right now... then i can make some beautiful fresh tomato soup. :cool:

This thread makes me hungry. That sounds sooooo delicious, I envy your veggie garden.

ah, well the watermelon was on sale in walmart... it was YUGE and only $2.50ish. been eating big slices of it but it went on forever. the blueberries, though, yes... from the garden. they looked so pretty together, the colours.
and we've a ton of peppers but none of them red so far and the recipe called for red peppers so he took off into town to try and find me some. clearly, there's some sort of national shortage :rolleyes: since walmart didn't have ONE single red pepper. i'll get around it with orange ones and a spot of parika, maybe a sprinkle of cayenne.

last night we came in with the last of the corn, a stack more fresh tomatoes, & the first decent carrots from my mini-plot. almost all the credit for the garden's bounty's down to H. i do my bit, but his continued work into the really hot days has made a lot of difference to the bounty. he made some wicked salsa verde last night! super tasty. :cool:

you could make a sort of sauce to brush onto it with marmalade and a little apple juice; you could use smokey barbeque sauce from a bottle as a wet glaze... how 'bout some pineapple? pineapple and pork? yum

I got some burgers in the fridge that I need to get a hustle on, then. They ain't cooking themselves! :D

I went simple S and P...

Various seasonings and sauced can always be added after cooking.

I don't eat pork very often... but these looked too good.
