I wonder who she was hiding from. I used to have keys to unused offices for hiding when I worked, and never used the same one twice running. I reckon I had at least a dozen different places. Never got found out either. You could also hide in full view, well sort of, always carried a clipboard with some blank paper on and you could wander round all day and no one would ever ask what you were up to.

Yup. Penelope Garcia (i am a tv crime drama fan). I will say it is interesting how tv shows tend to make their female computer geeks so flamboyantly quirky and their men so cookie cutter bland, but truth is that has been my life experience too. Well the women's bathrooms are excellent places to hide from work. Offices aren't bad, but odds are someone saw you enter so you will be found. Where as waiting outside the women's bathroom is just creepy.

I agree that certain body shapes are rarer these days (hourglass, stick) and others are quite common (pear/bell). Based on casual observation, it does seem that people are getter bigger these days. According to the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology and Education (my bible), the average size of the American woman is now 16-18.

I often notice entire families that are (at best) overweight - and possibly obese. That always made me wonder whether these people were simply victims of their genetics, an unhealthy lifestyle or both.

As far as measuring your waistline while pregnant, that doesn't seem particularly accurate. Of course, think of the great reduction you could have claimed after giving birth and losing the baby weight...

I completely agree that women have to deal with their own issues - especially regarding the workings of their internal plumbing. When you mention vaginal dryness and pain, I'm guessing that the latter is often the result of the former. In such cases, I imagine application of sufficient lubrication would help. I get that there are other conditions that could be causing pain. I was simply addressing the simplest one.

I also acknowledge that there are emotional issues that come into play that often seem to be more relevant to women than men. I've often heard women say that men will boink anything, whereas women generally need to feel some sort of connection with the other person. If a women doesn't feel that, I guess the sex could be described as bad in her eyes.

While I understand that there are many issues at play, my initial comments solely addressed the physical/mechanical workings of penetrative sex.

I get that some women have body image issues that can affect sex. That being said, I have never known a guy to refuse sex with a woman simply because her boobs were too small...

As far as sexual performance is concerned, I am reminded of a quote by Groucho Marx...

"I'm an ardent lover, but an ineffectual one."

wow, 16 to 18, that surprises me. I'd have expected 10 to 12. I think lifestyle plays a big part, though yeah genetics play some. I can say personally that I gain quicker now than when I was young. As well as only one person in my very big family ever struggled with weight in young adulthood, though many got chubby in middle age, and some got extremely heavy, though lifestyle played a big part.

side note, the one person who has struggled with weight since a teenager was also the only non smoker. I mean the 30s through the 70s near half of america was nicotine dependent. nicotine is an appetite suppressant. look at obesity percentage statistics compared to nicotine usage statistics. the times kind of correlate. started to see an increase in obesity in the 80s and started to see a decrease of smoking in the 80s, less smokers and more obesity in the 90s, even less and more now. smoking rates have hit a record low while obesity has hit a record high. america was a heavily nicotine dependent country from 1920s through the 1980s. maybe we have been a heavy people for the past 100 years and just didn't know it because so many were addicted to an appetite suppressant. that is actually why women smoking really took off in the 20s and how they were marketed to women. maybe our drive to become healthier is what is actually now making us less healthy, oh the irony.

but yes, I had to laugh at our health assessment that year, come on, my OB would be freaking out if I had a measurement that would pass their assessment. I kind of thought they would like toss that portion out that year for me, I mean I checked the box on the consent form, but nope. I thought it was funny though.

and yeah, most women do tend to be very emotional creatures, don't they?
