There was a really pretty girl at the gig last night. It was nice to look out and see here face.
 
mostly staying indoors, today, it's just too hot for me. working on the rug (about 4.5 rows of squares left), sipping cold drinks, fan on - and it's still warm! never could stand the heat, even without the humidity that TN experiences. :eek:

well who knew? you can use a mix of baking powder and confectioner's sugar, dampened with a drop of water, to sprinkle over anthills... the sugar's too fine for the ants to separate out, and the baking powder kills them. finish off with a few splashes of white vinegar.

If you have a problem with ants, you can stop them at the source by using baking soda, confectioners sugar and vinegar. Simply add five heaped teaspoons of confectioners sugar to a bucket or bowl – the measurement doesn’t need to be precise, but don’t use regular sugar, as ants are clever enough to separate grains of regular sugar from the baking soda, which won’t kill them, but they can’t do that with powdered sugar. Now add an equal amount of baking soda to the sugar and thoroughly mix the two together. What happens is that the ants will be drawn to the sugar, which they’ll eat, and in the process will take in the baking soda, which is fatal. Add about a teaspoon of water to the mixture, just enough to make it damp, and then pour it all over the ant hill.

Afterwards, add a small amount of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, which will be sure to kill any ants that aren’t eradicated by the baking soda as both types of vinegar contain insecticidal and fungicidal properties that are deadly to ants.

watched some episodes of the golden girls late yesterday evening and the writing+delivery of lines had me chuckling.

but one bit had me laughing, really hard, for at least ten minutes before i got control:

rose had badgered her partner into doing a sky dive after complaining they were boring together, not like her and her last husband(?)

he eventually decides to do it

then they show her getting ready to visit him in hospital because of his leg

blanche tells her he's a pretty exciting guy

rose tells her "you don't realise how much you care for a man till you see him streaking towards earth, trying to grab a bird"

and then finishing it off with she's glad she didn't jump.
