Done.

Well, almost. Story is feature complete and handed off to my editor. Barring any major plot holes requiring attention, I'll only need to accept his corrections and post sometime after breakfast. My entry this year:

Mud to Magic, chapters 1 through 3. ~44300 words.
(mf/mmf, oral, anal, voyeur, fantasy, elf, dwarf, monster girl, first time, Geek Pride Day)

When his sister is abducted by the local tyrant's henchmen, farmboy Rhys decides to act.

And a huge thanks to all of you guys and gals who helped me get out of my funk. I owe you one, big time.

Aaaaand - submitted. 4:57 PM UTC. Not quite "down to the wire", but way too close for comfort.

I need a vacation.

Sorry that we didn't get a chance to connect sooner and trade beta-reading. Next time! I'm still game to beta-read in general as well, just saying.

Also, just got mine submitted -- "A Cosplayer's Luck". I'm pretty happy with it. Didn't get a chance to do the second story I was thinking about, but that's okay.

Keep 'em coming, Hangout!

And not to worry, it’s not a competition and if you are late it’s no big problem, just let me know.

I submitted my Star Trek Universe story "The Search for he Kobayashi Maru" under SciFi a minute ago.

I hope everyone had a good time writing for this event. I know I did!

Made It By One Minute...

If the time zone doesn't matter. Spark the Runner 2 submitted at 23:59 Central Daylight. Really looking forward to reading this year's stories. Cheers!

Shouldn't be a problem. I had a few login problems but just got one in myself.

If anyone's late and still wants to get in before the weekend (or even a little late after we go live) just PM me. Not a competition, not a problem. :D

And there were around 20 stories so far, not counting any latecomers, so we're doing good.

Thx a million everyone for putting a story in. This is going to be some fun reading this weekend.:cattail:

No. Thank YOU.

Noooo, thank you all. Organizing isn’t a lot of work, it’s everyone writing stories that deserves the credit. But I’ll smile 😊 modestly coz it is rewarding to see it come to fruition.

Twenty three stories in now and latecomers will definitely be added, so if all you need is a day or two more, keep going and put them in!!!!!

How do you know how many stories there are?

But yeah, I submitted mine a few days ago. It's probably the darkest of the bunch, about a female private detective who uses hacking equipment to take possession of blackmail information.

My story is in...

But it is still showing as draft at this late stage and I am worried I have cocked up somehow.
It's labelled as should be but this is the first story I have submitted since the old style control panel was removed.

If it's showing as draft, then you haven't submitted it yet. You need to go to the preview page, scroll to the bottom, and submit the story.

Will there be another all-in-one page like last year's event?

Yes, I just sent Laurel the writeup - it'll be a page with a list linked to all the stories, plus they appear in the usual way.

How do you know how many stories there are?

I don't get to peek - Laurel sent me the list of what's been submitted as of last night.

Much obliged

I pm'd Laurel so you should appear with everyone else.

On the other hand, I'm still writing my own one. It's gonna get added late....

Pretty good so far. Only a couple of comments, but it's holding onto a 4.72 rating, well within "hot" marker territory, and has been put on 18 peoples' favorite lists.

I didn't realize that the stories would be listed alphabetically on the event page, but it appears that mine is listed first as a result. Not sure if that's made a difference in the number of readers or not.

I hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Better than expected. I had my doubts about this story. Not on its merits; I like it. But I wasn’t sure what readers would think.

I was in a similar boat. Both my stories have been much better received than I had been expecting.
