This is almost certainly in the wrong place but I literally have no idea where to post it, sorry mods.

I just want to express my thanks and ask how it happened, i'm grateful that "A womans story of love" or whatever it was called, that 100 chapter behemoth that was strangling the Illustrated section on the website has been deleted. I don't know if the author took it down or what but i'm happy.

The author must have taken it down. The site doesn't delete stories unless they have been reported for breaching content rules. I guess you could thank the author, but since you're glad to see the story go, I doubt they'd be interested in your gratitude.

Lustfulyoungguy, I'd like to express my gratitude to you for making me laugh. I've had a difficult day, so thanks for making it better!

Is there an etiquette for publishing stories with that many chapters? Perhaps they should be submitted over the course of a number of months. There may be a fall-off in readership but the category isn't overwhelmed.

There should be a place here for the Infinite Jest of erotica.

I think chaptered submissions are usually staggered so they only post one a day? Though for a low-traffic category like Illustrated, that may not make so much difference, and it's still a problem for toplists full of umpteen chapters of the same thing.

Yes, if you submit all chapters together and ask Laurel to schedule their release, she will publish a chapter every 24 hours - at the same time each night (the midnight server run). I imagine it's load once and set a clock running.

I believe Laurel just puts a publish date on the submission and the update process does everything automatically. That's the way I would have done it.
