What is the message?

I just read a thread about abortion. It is a nice topic for Mother's day.

I have no interest in the political banter about the topic.

However, I will ask a question for which I already know the answer. If you don't know the answer you may want to look it up.

When a sperm fertilizes an egg the developing cells have a new DNA that is different from the male and the female. For that reason it is alien DNA and the females immune system should destroy it. But it does not. In the highly complex universe of a cell there is a very advanced 'chemical communication' system. That system sends a chemical message to mom. The message is not "happy mothers day." But what is the message?

If you already know what the message is it would probably make you think twice before you decide to do what the immune system refuses to do once it gets the message.

If you don't already know the answer to the question you probably will not take time to look it up. Because you have probably long ago discovered that ignorance is bliss.

Sorry that this is more than one paragraph. I have noted that some are bothered if a thread requires reading more than a basic line or two. I am so sorry if this offends some. I have this problem because I keep thinking that the Lit part of Literotica has something to do with writing. Perhaps others feel that the website would be better served with a name like Idiotica.

couldn't you just have posted this in the abortion thread? i mean, since you don't want to banter about it?

Maybe the next democratic president can install a new national holiday and call it Abortion Day. :)

Abortion threads seem to really rile up people like you, kantarii, Matthew Craig, and Shelley2inme. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that amongst the four of your there's at least one, probably two abortions in your collective sexual history.

Wrong. Typical libturd projection. Fuck off NobDownSyndrome.

I wonder...why an unfertilized egg triggers the same response as a fertilized egg? At least until implantation...which can take days...or weeks. But hey, we dont want to discuss facts do we? Lol. Idiots.

It's called an immune system. Go fuck a tree.

I defy you to use facts to define 'life'.

It's a soul, the message is I'm a being and self aware.

The answer to this question is easily understood with even a cursory understanding of how evolution works.

"The invading embryonic cells stimulated mother cells to make some immune cells that rein in immune responses, Teichmann and her team report today in Nature. The group also realized that at least some of the mother’s natural killer cells were peacekeepers, not warriors, preventing other immune cells from attacking the fetus and producing chemicals that promoted fetal growth and blood vessel connections. These natural killer cells are controlled, in part, by certain cells in the decidua called stromal cells. “We can now see in detail how they communicate with each other,” Teichmann says. “Our results also reveal multiple layers of regulation of immunity that were not previously appreciated.”

Science. Nothing magical about it.

All just a magical coincidence. :)
