thank you. it is. and yes, I am really just a barefoot or lazy loafer kind of girl.
Cubical life is still annoying, but has some pluses. One guy gives hands me chocolate bars often and otherwise leaves me alone besides pleasant greetings in passing. I like him. otherwise I feel I am surrounded by idiots by the number of people who walk over to ask me stupid questions.

kid is doing well. no camping, that is more a boy scouts or maybe older cub scout thing. Actually, cub scouts just opened up to my sons age group in 2018.. Well, they started a pilot program in a handful of major cities two years prior, to see if marketing and recruiting to the parents of kindergartners was financial beneficial, and guess it was. Really, Lions are just a low level introduction, and the poor cub masters are kind of lost. First day, I was like no way this is ever going to work. It was clear it had probably been 20 years since the cub master had even spoken with a kindergartner, and the first meeting was 2 hours sitting listening to him speak, and started at 7pm. First, kindergartners don't sit quietly and listen to anyone for 2 hours. Second, most kindergartners got to bed between 6pm and 8pm still, so the first meeting involved several kids eventually falling asleep on the tables and floors. I get why he holds them so late, for the older boys who have after school sports to get their homework done and dinner before hand, but if you aren't even getting your kindergartner out until 9pm, well it sucks to be parents.

Honestly, girl scouts made more sense as they didn't combine ages. They simply had troops, not dens that meet as packs. So kindergarten and first was one troop, 2nd and 3rd another, 4th and 5th another, etc etc 5th graders and kindergartners would never be having meetings together, especially not weekly, and be expected to be doing the same things at the same time. Honestly, I think cub scout pack meetings are just insanity lol. like how could anyone expect to hold the same activity at the same time for such a broad age range, and do it ever single week. As time has progressed he has at least gotten better about ending on time as well as speaking quickly at first, and separating out the younger dens into separate rooms after he does the group thing. Then parents run those rooms, and he deals with older kids. If they do a family camp overnight, I am so sending hubby but I still think having a pack camp out is insane, again the ages are just too vast that it hurts the interests of both the oldest and the youngest.

As far as scouting. It has been WAY more years than I care to admit since going through the program. However I can tell you that the program did teach me many things in and about life in general. We had Cub Scouts. Weebelo's. And then the Boy Scouts. I believe we had to finish the program by our 15th birthday..
Ah the days of having everyone in the room learn how to tie each knot. to make cordage. To learn the local plants and flowers to find which were edible and which were not. to learn to build a proper fire, many ways.. to learn to navigate with a compass. to learn to build shelter and build things with nothing but very few tools..
And finally. How to treat each others as equals !!
The Scouts... And I have to believe the Girl Scouts learn those same values also.. Make Scouting a wonderful program!!
How far did he get with his Pinewood Derby Car??

to be honest, all I remember from girl scouts besides hair and makeup, cookies, and girl scout camp. And we were some cut throat, ruthless, cookie sales girls.

and dont get me started, honestly derby, nothing of note. but as a whole, I am still trying to offer bribes to my kid to get him to quit just like day two. I offered to buy him a bounce house, because even though he already had a trampoline, he wanted one. He declined. Hey, I bought him the bounce house for his birthday 2 months later I am not mean, but yes I really wish we could avoid it until he is older.

thank you, yes I am and I have. I tend to post in contacts though, but it will be at least 2 weeks before I get out of glasses. honestly, yes in some ways contacts are a pain, but so are glasses too. I feel less physically capable in glasses. hell, if I didn't need them to legally drive, I'd probably not bother at all. but yes, I have at least 5 pair of glasses lol (who doesn't love Zenni)

I'd rather do the trampoline instead. it is a smaller residential bounce house. while it is rated for 500lbs, it is also rated for 4ft height and 100lb or less per person, and yeah I well exceed 4ft and 100lbs lol. Trampoline is more adult size. of course that is in the front yard and not the back.
