definitely try it for pain... i have one of those icy hot patches attached to the unit and when my bad is giving me trouble (slight misalignment of the spine in the small of my back) no tablets touch it but that blocks the pain signals and allows me to carry on as usual.

he one problem i've had with it was when i slept with it on, and i've used it a fair few times; the gel pad started distorting a bit, so the gel pulled back from one small edge, exposing the electrical element. didn't hurt, but was uncomfortable and obviously not fit to be used again. i need to get a replacement pad, but may have to get an entire new unit. definitely worth it, though, when my back is out of order as otherwise i'd be hardly able to walk for at least 3 days and in pain for a week.

how effective it may prove for you, i suppose, really depends on the nature of your pain.
