Not at all. There's nothing strange about wanting to see yourself in a glamorous or erotic way. It's normal. It's too bad that you say your husband couldn't care less. I can't imagine that.

I agree with Simon - it's sad that your husband isn't appreciative.

I draw as well as write - I occasionally get folk send me pics, asking, "Will you draw me?" The answer is always yes .

I used to be in a camera club years ago... before the age of digital ... I did many a boudoir portfolio for ladies and it surprised me how many were doing it for there own ego boost and not for their spouse!

Some guys just don't know when they have a good thing going!

A piece of advice though, get a recommendation for the photographer, there are a lot of, how should I put it, unscrupulous people out there... many young ladies end up getting into things they didn't expect.

No, its not at all unusual for you to have an interest in having a series of sexy boudoir pictures of yourself made. I've known several women over the years who've done that and whose husbands never knew that they'd done so.

So if you want to do it then find a good photographer with a good professional history and do it.

I feel like I would probably get turned on posing for the photos. SO, I can imagine the photographers get turned on by it! To be able to stay professional in such circumstances is likely very difficult.

Not seriously. I'm a little too self-conscious and too self-critical. Perhaps someday I'll have someone to do it for, but I'd probably burn the photos without even looking at them otherwise.

One thing I'd say is... women come in all shapes and sizes, the one thing that a good photographer does is make you feel good about yourself. Whether your curvy or thin, the looks on your face will show the mood you're in

I absolutely agree and I envy those women with so much confidence in themselves. They are gorgeous because they are so comfortable and proud of their own sexuality. It's something that I am still working on.

I am also the opposite of an exhibitionist. I don't even wear bathing suits. It's different when I am in private with someone special, but otherwise I am just an extremely private person.

Among other types of photography,

I do it for a living as well as my daughter. She gets more boudoir customers than I do. Women always tell me after the shoot, how empowering it was. They look at themselves in a different light.

Go for it.

If I do it anyone can get the courage to as well. I'm totally self conscious too so I understand. But with the make up and strategic positioning.....
A friend of mine is doing the photography otherwise I wouldn't even think about it.

You should, its a really fun experience. I had a former partner who wanted to do so and wanted me to go along with her. She had a blast and I was even unwittingly brought into some of the pics. They were great and it made her happy so that was a win.

I don't think so, not for the professional ones, anyway. I'm not professional, and I've taken photos of girlfriends, and I find myself so caught up in creating the shots that I get out of slobbering boyfriend mode and into photographer mode. I assume it would be even easier for a true professional photographer to do that. It is a turn on, but it's fairly easy to control and stay professional because the desire to get a good shot is so high.

I'm always fascinated by how intellectual\artistic focus can override our baser instincts.

There are some amazing boudoir shots out there that truly are art to my mind. They go beyond a visceral sexuality and are almost inspiring in how the human body is portrayed, whether it's male or female.

Depends on your husband. If it was the OP's husband, maybe not, because he doesn't seem to care, and your response would likely be disappointing. If it was me, 100% yes, and I'd give the most enthusiastic response imaginable if I had a wife (I don't -- I'm not married anymore) that did that.

I really enjoyed it. I posed for a friend who was getting started off in the buisness a few times and had a lot of a fun with it.

He is quite sucessful now but for awhile his website was essientially nude photos of me haha
