Over 50 Introduce Yourself

Good morning!

AARP.. some of it is good, other a waste of time. I've got the emails automatically dumping into the junk mail file..lol. Apartment complex has a trashcan at the mailboxes for most of the rest. I have found some interesting info in the newspaper and magazine.. and of course the discount at Denny's. I probably save enough to cover the membership fee every year..

Morning, everyone. We've finally got a sunny day that will climb into the mid 50s here... and I've got to spend my day shopping for a toilet. Lol. I guess it won't take ALL day...

Does anyone object? If so, shout "Hey kid, get off my lawn!", otherwise, I'll extend the Seniors' Discount... (and, as a fellow SciFi nerd, welcome, how's the weather on Barsoom?)

Thank you, TANSTAAFL. Big dust storm yesterday, but the haze has died out with only minor deaths amongst the peasants.

FYI, Robert Heinlein is my personal deity.

Okay, she's cool. Anyone who appreciates RAH has got to be a-o-k. (And about 10° off plumb, so there's that too).

I saw the name 'Robert Heinlein' and it rang a bell. Nothing in my search rang a bell. Then I checked my Library Thing account. I've read 25 of his books! I probably read them 40+ years ago during my sci-fi period.

Am I off plumb? Probably. :)

His work can be challenging (like good SciFi). And yes, from the little I have seen you are about 10°off plumb. And that makes you our leader.:devil:

10 degrees off plumb describes me perfectly.

Perfect. Forty-eight rounds up to 50 anyways. :D

Over 50 here, over 60 as well! happy Sunday!

T, nobody believes you are over 60; I will take your word that you're over 50. But, I mean woah! Has anyone ever pointed out that you have spectacular bresteses. Just curious...

Born in 1957, hon. That makes me just recently turned 62. Life is good!

In 1957 I'd been taking violin lessons for more than a year. I'd decided that I was going to be a teacher because I loved school. I spent most of the summer in Michigan with my great-grandmother and great aunts and uncles.

I wasn't born in 57. Or 58, 59, 60, or 61. But in a bit of coincidence, I'll BE 57 this summer.

When does the "getting some" part start? Does that part of the subscription cost extra or is that a perk?
