Vintage Porn

A vivid memory

from when I was 15. Sitting with a schoolmate, either side of a girl called Celia, who brought her Dad's Kamera and Solo magazines (photographer Harrison Marks). We looked at the mags and took it in turns to finger her. Happy days.

I'm 59 years old. I've been watching porn since 1978. My favorite era of porn was 1985-1995 or so. Not too many fake boobs, not too many condoms. The women look like real women. Some of the men had average sized cocks. It was relatable.

Yes, the music could be annoying, but it was worth it to see the hot action.

My favorite performers from this time include Kay Parker, Juliet Anderson, Christy Canyon, Erica Boyer, Janey Robbins, Trinity Loren, Little Oral Annie, Ebony Ayes, Lili Marlene, Nina Hartley, Ginger Lynn...

I just saw one with Kay Parker last night!

Thanks everyone! Love the real vintage stuff! Will look up some of the others.

The stuff I saw in my teens - Private and Color Climax especially, were my introduction to sex. And, I don't want to sound like an old fart, but they just fucked back then. There was no such thing as mysogonistic porn; the actors actually looked like they were enjoying themselves. There's a lot of nasty stuff around today. Which is apparently having a corrosive effect on pubescent boys.

Loved the porn of the late 70's through mid 90's when there were actual movies directed by the likes of Anthony Spinelli and staring people like John Leslie, John Holmes, Peter North, Ron Jeremy, Marylin Chambers, Nina Hartley, Annette Haven, Colleen Brennen, Ginger Lynn etc. Some could actually act a little as well as fuck and suck. Some of the movies had actual special effects, explosions, car chases, etc. Porn now days is just jumping right into sex and essentially no build up or dialogue or anything else.

There was a woman in the 70's era named Anne Sprinkle because she was one of the few in most of the porn that squirted. As she always put it, "sensual droplets of love". Perhaps it was disguised watersports which was largely not part of standard porn, perhaps even considered "illegal" in some states. There was one called "Barbara Broadcast" with Jamie Gillis and I think Annette Haven and others, that did have a scene of a woman going into a restaurant kitchen, having eye contact with the sexy male dish washer, pulling a salad mixing bowl onto the floor, lifting her dress and pissing into the bowl while the guy watched. The scene ended with her lowering her skirt, kicking the bowl toward him, and walking out. That's the only domestic main stream porn that I ever saw with something like that.

Annie Sprinkle is alive and well. Very active in sex workers' rights, sex education, and related areas.

back in the 60s and 70s there were a couple of adult theaters at the foot of Canal Street in New Orleans. My young wife and I liked going there and enjoyed some classics with lots of cum spraying around. "Candy" was one of them and there was another where a young guy was at a dinner party and masturbating his cum shot in slow motion from one end of the table to the other end. A real gasping experience. It was nice knowing the men sitting around us were masturbating and or sucking cock close to us. The movies always or usually had a nice mix of straight and gay action and best of somewhat of a story line. We never ate the popcorn but I could not wait to get home and do some eating.

I just watched this. Quick black and white from the 50's

She tells him to use a fish skin as she doesn't want Junior so soon. Were they really called fish skins? Surely they weren't made of fish!

Yes they could have been - in the 18th and 19th centuries, if they weren't made from sheep intestines. Shark skin wasn't recommended unless the lady wanted rough sex.

Have you watched it? Do you watch it? I think I need to watch more of it. I just watched this from the early 70's. Damn but that dark haired woman had a big bush!

I will admit to skipping through it. The film has obviously deteriorated. The plot was thin. But it was still erotic to watch.

I also watched a clip of Linda Lovelace in Deep Throat. Glad I finally saw that. I recall a silly radio discussion about that where a woman surmised that poor Linda must have been born with a vagina where her throat should be. Ha!

yes..I'll skip through the classic porn 70s - late 80s early 90'. I'm not a full bush man, but, these classic 8mm are great. no one try to be an actor. little goof then sex like you were at home. I'm always happy to find a film form the late 70 when they started trimming their pussy..into the 80 smooth pussy

Linda Lovelace story isn't what people think.. she was abused...

Thank you. An interesting read. It's nice that she is still going strong as a very mature woman. I've often wondered about some of the actors and actresses of that era. I googled "John Leslie porn Star" (because there is a legit Brit actor also named John Leslie) and the years had not been kind to him. I've occasionally seen Ron Jeremy around as a fat old man. Gone are his young slim days when he could actually suck his own cock.

I've wondered where some of the others like Marylin Chambers, and Annette Haven and Ginger Lynn and Nina Hartley and others are.... probably grandma's taking their grandchildren on walks through the park and nobody would recognize them. I remember when some of them like Nina Hartley and Veronica Hart appeared in the mainstream "Boogie Nights" back in the 90's. I think Ginger Lynn was on TV not long ago to address the announcement that Charlie Sheen had HIV. Those two were a couple back in the 90's.

<<<Linda Lovelace story isn't what people think.. she was abused...>>>

A lot of controversy surrounded Linda Lovelace and what and what not was true. Be that as it may, "Deep Throat" did a lot to bring oral sex out of the porn movies and into public discussion on TV, in magazines, and general gossip in the beauty parlors across the country. A good thing as far as I'm concerned. Back in my youth in medieval times, it seemed that blowjobs were considered an activity of professional prostitutes and devout sluts. Nice housewives and good girls didn't do that sort of thing.... or at least not admit to it. "Deep Throat" had tens of thousands of ordinary housewives giving deep cock sucking a try. I think even good old "Dr Ruth" would talk about it on the Merv Griffin show. I'm sure Linda Lovelace gave a lot of husbands a good excuse to tell their wives, "Hell Honey, if SHE can do it, so can you."

My exposure was nudist mags that my grandfather had. When I moved to big city I saw an adult peep show and saw Kay Parker and videos of the 70s... I was so turned on by them.

Funny that you mention "nudist mags" because back in my day, the "bullcrap" story that those magazines were to promote healthy family fun, was the excuse they had to publish stuff showing female crotches and cock. Back when I was still wet behind the ears, even before Playboy hit the racks in the drugstore, "girlie mags" were pretty much tits only. The nudist mags were the full bush fare of the day.

My friend's older brother had some along with a 'French Deck" of cards showing every imaginable sort of fucking and sucking and licking you can think of, in the attic above his garage. We'd hang out up there looking at the "dirty stuff", smoking stolen cigarettes, and listing to the older brother extol the wonders and magic of fucking. He kept promising to bring one of his slut girlfriends (probably all lies) up to the attic and she would let us "whippersnappers" stick our virgin dicks into her.

I also happened to discover a cash of "nudist mags" in a desk drawer in my uncle's basement. I was called upstairs to dinner and had to make excuses to wait while I prayed for my rock hard "boner" to subside. Wonderful old memories.

There is always "controversy" when a woman publicly addresses having been sexually abused. John Q Public does not hike to have his male fantasies disabused. In the case of sexual abuse, I have learned to believe the abused, not the apologist, until I have very strong reasons not to.

Hmmm. Not sure when your youth was, but I came of age before "Deep Throat," and for myself and the people I grew up among, oral sex was not only a normal, but an essential part, of sexual relationships. Casual talk about it was certainly common, and not at all limited to lovers' talk.. Perhaps what you're saying is that it became acceptable to talk about in "polite society"—a place i never ventured.

Anal sex was common enough as well, although people were less likely to talk about it— at least among members of the opposite sex .

80's - 90's Vintage

I really began my porn watching in the 80's with Christy Canyon, Nina Hartley, Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn, Seka, Ron Jeremy, Peter North, Jamie Gillis, John Holmes, and Tom Byron to name a few. I really believe the porn from the 70's- mid 90's to be the glory days of porn. Very realistic looking actors and actresses that did some acting.

P.S. There is one male star I left out of my list who was in many many porn movies and I cant remember his last name...Randy xxxx. He deserves to be listed amongst the best!

Interesting. I came of age well before "Deep Throat" as well and your profile says you're retired so I'm guessing we aren't too far apart in age. Perhaps you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I agree that "casual talk" about blowjobs and pussy eating was certainly common among my male friends, but I suppose having been brought up in one of those "strict Catholic houses" and Catholic schools, one didn't talk much about oral sex at a young age unless it was in the context that people who did it were essentially "sluts". As I got into college and beyond, it was generally considered "normal" but not something you assumed (at least me and maybe I was naïve) that everybody did. My first experience with it was as a freshman in college and I doubt that the girl with whom I experienced it would have wanted it broadcast to everyone else on campus. I doubt that she would have wanted her name in the phone booth (remember phone booths?) "For a great blowjob call Cindy 111-555-1212". However, it seemed that after the movie "Deep Throat" came out, there was a slew of discussions in every venue from daytime talk shows to late night talk shows and Lady's Home Journal and Cosmo about it. Cock sucking became "fashionable", even "slutty chic" for lack of better terms. Women started "bragging" about their oral abilities rather than keeping them as something private.

With all the fans there seem to be of the old "feature length movie porn" perhaps someone should revive the genre and push out a lot of the cheap crap that's basically just 15 minutes of rutting. There was a lot to be said about at least some soft of plot that connected the sex scenes. I think more women actually enjoyed some of those old movies more than the current stuff online. My wife even had some favorite actors that seemed to get her motor running, so in my searches in the back rooms of those old VHS rental places (gone but not forgotten) I'd make an effort to find them for her.

Well, I'm sure you're right, that the environment was the difference. Mine was anything but strict. I was a late bloomer, never had (full-on) sex until college. But talk was common in high school, and not derogatory (except among those locker-room guys who were so steeped in misogyny and braggadocio—but you knew they weren't getting any anyway. The bigger the talk, the less the action). The memory is burned into my mind of one conversation at a study table between a Catholic girl I was deeply enamored with and a guy friend of mine who was a lot more outgoing than me. I remember him asking her if Oral was considered a sin in the Catholic religion, because it was "just kissing, after all" and her coy response that there were no rules against "really getting it on, so long as you don't actually have sex."

As I say, I didn't have full-on sex until college (I couldn't count how many backseat finger-gasms I gave to girls I was going with at different times, but it never moved beyond that—I was too shy) but that first time in college, it went straight from kissing and groping to oral. I spent hours that night on my knees on the dorm room floor, giving her head, before it moved on. I don't think in those years I knew anyone who didn't do it. Mixed gender talk about it was common, and even those who were too shy to actually join in the conversations certainly seemed to enjoy listening.

My first experience with it was as a freshman in college and I doubt that the girl with whom I experienced it would have wanted it broadcast to everyone else on campus. I doubt that she would have wanted her name in the phone booth (remember phone booths?) "For a great blowjob call Cindy 111-555-1212".

Well, no, not at all. That would have moved the conversation from lusty fun to derogatory. I didn't know anyone in those days who was into degradation. Admittedly, most of the crowd I moved in those days were either hippies or people who didn't look hippy, but shared the ideals. To us, sex in all its permutations was the most wholesome and joyful of all things.

Yeah, I guess I never really watched television, so I can't relate to that. But I guess it was like pegging, 30 years later. Some of us had been doing it for a long time, but not talking about it except maybe among close friends. But once somebody on television invented a name for it and began talking about it, it was all the rage. Did everyone just suddenly start doing it? Maybe a bunch did, but for a lot more, it just allowed permission to talk about it.

I used to watch one I liked. Sadly, can't remember the name or any performers in it.

It was about a detective trying to solve an inheritance issue. It had incest and threesomes. He ended the movie fucking two random women.

I wish I remembered. :D
