In your twenties, you're immortal; as soon as you hit thirty, though, you're beset by more medical problems than even Gregory House could solve.

A place to grump, groan and share advice about all that ails you.

I have:

- a weak left arm due to a shoulder dislocation when I was a child

- fibromyalgia of the right side of my chest

- nearsighted in my left eye

- pain in my left knee due to twisting it as a teenager and it not healing properly

- recurring lower back pain (still not sure why, but began when I lost weight)

- frequent bouts of indigestion

- wonky nose due to it having been broken by a bully when I was in high school

For most, I'm only 23 but I've always had a list of problems 😅

They either get easier to deal with or worse

- glaucoma and other eye problems, mainly in the left eye

- a bunch of mental issues I won't go into but depression is the biggest and it makes everything else worse

- a weak immune system, I get sick at least once a year, usually more but always once

I hope some of yours get easier to deal with 😊

Actually, I was fine until I hit 40, then my eyesight went to shit and my metabolism slowed. In the last 13 years I gave gone from simply needing glasses to wearing tri-focals.

I was gonna mention my bipolar disorder, but I decided to keep the first post light. Never be afraid or ashamed of mentioning your mental health, however. That causes so many problems for people because they're afraid that they'll be looked down upon. :(

Sounds a lot like me.

I get my 2nd epidural for pain in a week. The first one was a partial failure, which isn't uncommon. I have DJD in my spine. Arthritis in both knees. I've survived stage 4 metastatic ovarian cancer. (2014) I've had cataract surgery...... After saying all of that, I need a nap.

Despite my issues, it could be worse. My high school classmates are checking out at an alarming rate and that hurts. The worse part of getting old, isn't the aches and pains for me. It's saying good-bye to people I've known for 60+ years.

That sounds awful. My girlfriend's going through something similar, what with many of her relatives (some of them not even that old) dying of various things. Really puts things in perspective. :(

It sure does.....

Blocked artery that needed to have a stent inserted.
Stress, depression and anxiety
Sleep apnoea
Chronic ankle pain.

That'll do for starters

End stage kidney failure, Edema, retinopathy in both eyes, bursitis in my knees and elbows, but life is still damn good now that my heart's fixed :D

Wow! Sorry. I have retinopathy too and some other thing that still isn't sorted out. Plus a long list of other things.

I was doing pretty well until I had a baby at 39. Things started declining after that.

No I'm female.

My HS classmates were/are a great group of folks. I was in the same college class with 5 and earned a masters degree with one. We go to jazz clubs, concerts and out to eat regularly.

Yes, we have a few issues, but we laugh or cry about them and get going.

Ankles, knees, and shoulders from a youth (teens through early 30s) playing rugby. I am 53 now and in a few years will be needing new knees and some surgical intervention on the shoulders. I am not looking forward to the rehab. :(

Probably need new knees myself soon.

I have a digestive disorder, recently diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I was tested for two types of cancer between October and December, but cleared of both, and now in the process of trying to find out what is causing the symptoms experienced
