Rotten Tomatoes Users are Trashing "Captain Marvel" Before They've Even Seen It

Marvel’s first woman-led superhero movie, Captain Marvel, is being trolled on Rotten Tomatoes by users who haven’t even seen the film yet.

The movie, which hits US theaters March 8, has received roughly three dozen negative audience “reviews” on the platform as of this morning (Feb. 20). Users are rating the film as “not interested” on Rotten Tomatoes and leaving negative comments including disparaging remarks about lead actress Brie Larson, as the Hollywood Reporter notes. These aren’t proper reviews: The movie is not out yet and hasn’t been screened for preview audiences, so these users wouldn’t have had an opportunity to watch it yet.

So, people who are expressing their dislike about putting a female lead into this kind of character aren't "proper"?

Seems to me this would be a HUGE red flag to any other movie producers and screenwriters to not do this kind of project again rather than dissing on the paying public.

But, what do I care, I don't go to the movies anyway.

The comic character was female from the get-go.

Oops - you just made the same mistake these morons are making. Nice job! :D

Those were not reviews at all. On the review board, the fans were asked if they plan to see Captain Marvel. And of the approximate 80-100 posts, most said no. Larson went woke on the junket circuit and stated multiple times that she doesn’t “hate white dudes” while calling for them to be replaced as film critics. Maybe someone from Marvel should explain to her that A LOT OF WHITE MEN tend to watch Marvel movies.

Captain Marvel Reviews TANK! Trolls BLAMED! (Obviously)

Personally, I think Brie Larsen was miscast for the role. Many were leaning towards Yvonne Strahovski from the show "Chuck". I still plan to see it though. I'm torn about seeing Shazam though.

Harpy, sweetie, are you sure you are not confusing this with Captain America? LOL

The main character in the comic book is a female, Carol Danvers.

I don't see why this is even a big deal, there have been plenty of female led action movies beyond Marvel, one of my favorites of all time is Pam Grier. LOL.

Hmm - which will the studio care more about:

* deplorables hacking away at keyboards in their mother's basements
* the box office $$ this film will pull in?

Let's watch.

Apparently YOU failed to get the message. It doesn't matter if the original conception was for a female lead, THE PAYING PUBLIC doesn't like it. Dissing on them in favor of the disliked concept is stupid. That's like saying the Edsel was a fantastic car and people were morons for not buying one.

It was a fantastic car for it's era. Except the PAYING PUBLIC didn't like it.

Guess what happened next...

I'm not. I'm not sure the public isn't. Either way, it's their money they're talking about not spending because, like I said, I don't go to the movies.

People are tired of man bashing super babes being projected as the new warrior gender. It will probably flop.

Let's wait for attendance numbers and the box office receipts before deciding if the paying public likes the movie and its lead character.

The reason white males are dissing her: The actress found some independent journalist, a black female cerebral palsy victim, to do a presser with. The journalist pointed out that something like 65% of comic book movie audiences are white males. The actress then went on to pretty much say "Fuck White Males".

Pam Grier? She never played a super babe as we see them portrayed today. Nice AV by the way.

There have been a lot of Captain Marvels over the years, and the rights to the name are a famous comics clusterfuck. The original one, best remembered for "Shazam," predates Marvel Comics.

This seems like the latest weird thing for people to get upset. If you saw the last Avengers and you're going to see the next one in a couple of months, you're not going to miss this movie. And if you're not interested in Captain Marvel, which is certainly allowed, why go through all this trouble?

I'm willing to do that. Unfortunately, rorbag seems to want to get ahead of the curve in this thread.

Um, the "paying public" will turn out in droves to see this picture.

The deplorable losers who wage war on the internet probably can't even afford an IMAX ticket! LOL

I use Netflix, I don't waste money on theaters anymore. Hollywood is dying. Phony themes, zero creativity, and totally political. People want to be entertained. They don't want to be herded into an auditorium and subjected to two hours of liberal virtue signalling and propaganda.

Female lead movie=man bashing

Black or brown cast= white hating

Gay lead movie=promoting gay agenda

Rory, they are already spazzing out in this very thread, even before seeing the film. What is it that they preach about, not to judge a book by its cover? Not to jump to conclusions?

Do they even watch films? For the life of me, I can't understand living this type of way, swimming in paranoia thinking everyone is out to get you. It's not a very pleasant way of enjoying life.

Marvel movies usually do well at the box office. I doubt they have even picked up a basic comic book.

More fake news from the "woke" left who is apparently not all that big on comics.

You mean the $$ estimates that have been in free fall since Brie came out and Dixi Chicked her own movie by telling the primary (and microscopic) fan base they weren't welcome and should fuck off?

Yea.....lets see how well that whole trashing your fan base marketing strategy works out. :D

^^ This.

Avengers: Infinity War Domestic Total Gross: $678,815,482

Sequel: Avengers: Endgame. Character driving plot in sequel: Captain Marvel

So, not only is she going to make a killing in "Captain Marvel", she's also going to clean up in "Avengers: Endgame". Nothing is going to go down in flames quite as quickly or spectacularly as a deplorable prediction of this character losing the studio money.
