"The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has accepted Mr. Cohen's request for postponement of tomorrow's hearing due to post surgery medical needs. A future date will be announced by the committee," his attorney Lanny Davis said in a statement.

Sure he will. They have subpoena powers and can subpoena them from the IRS and Trump's financial dept.

The question isn't whether he'll get them. The question is how soon after that does the information get leaked.

I don't think so. It's never been done in history. Congress is not entitled to the President's personal financial records. He has Constitutional rights just like we do. They have no probable cause.

US v Nixon stated the party seeking a subpoena must make "sufficient showing" that the "Presidential material" is "essential to the justice of the case". It will be hard for Congress to claim Trump's the tax returns are "essential to the justice of the case" without already knowing they prove something specific. The courts are not going to allow another two year open ended investigation into something that "might" have happened but for which there is no evidence. Oh, and conducting business in Russia isn't a crime.

Judge voids Paul Manafort plea deal, says he 'intentionally' lied to the FBI, special counsel and grand jury

Washington (CNN) - Paul Manafort "intentionally" lied to special counsel Robert Mueller's office, breaking the plea agreement that made him the star cooperator in the Russia probe, a federal judge found on Wednesday.

Manafort "made multiple false statements to the FBI, the OSC and the grand jury concerning matters that were material to the investigation," including his contacts with his Russian associate during the campaign and later, Judge Amy Berman Jackson wrote on Wednesday.

So, what are they going to do, give him a second sentence where he spends the rest of his life in jail?

The House is currently re-opening their investigation. One of the claims is money laundering.

Guess what that gets you when you subpoena someone's tax returns.

By law, taxpayer information is supposed to remain confidential. But as University of Virginia law professor George Yin, author of a 2017 article on the law, told NPR, Congress didn't like being dependent on the executive branch to provide tax records.

Trump Organization Deals In Asia Fuel Debate On Emoluments Lawsuit
When the "committee access" provision, as it's known, became law in 1924, Congress had been dealing with taxpayers' information in the Teapot Dome scandal afflicting the Harding administration and in a controversy involving former Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon. Like Trump, he had served in government while refusing to avoid conflicts of interest by letting go of his holdings.

The committee access provision has rarely been invoked, but here's how it would work:

For the party in control of the House or Senate, making the request is easy. It would come from the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee (the House panel that writes tax law), Senate Finance Committee or Joint Committee on Taxation. Democrats have been badgering the Republican chairs of those panels to act since February 2017 without success.
Once a request is made, no floor action is necessary. The request would go to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, who oversees the IRS — not to the taxpayer in the Oval Office, who would officially be out of the loop. Yin said the 1924 law "gave the tax committees the unqualified right to request the tax returns of any taxpayer."
What would happen next is uncharted territory. Based on recent events, Trump might deploy Justice Department lawyers, and perhaps private lawyers, to fight the request in court. The process might resemble the not-infrequent legal battles over congressional subpoenas for executive branch documents. But the committee access provision has never been before a federal judge.
Were Congress to get access to Trump's returns, it would be easy for lawmakers to disclose the information, despite various privacy protections that exist for taxpayers. The chair or committee with Trump's tax returns could submit them to the full House or Senate if there's a legitimate legislative purpose. At that point, the returns would very likely quickly become available for the public to see on the Internet.

So, what are they going to do, give him a second sentence where he spends the rest of his life in jail?

The question is....why would he lie when you, vette and the rest of the right wing whackadoodles have determined there is nothing to find? Why would he risk a plea deal, but instead choose to spend a greater time of his life in jail? Over nothing? Right?

WE didn't "determine" there was "nothing to find." As a matter of fact, the Senate committee investigation this issue is the body which just made that statement.

Manafort is an old man who will most likely die in prison while serving his current sentence. Giving him a second sentence doesn't change that.

That's bullshit, of course.

I've had enough of your stupid for today..

That's assuming Trump doesn't issue a series of pardons to everybody who has run afoul of the federal law, which would be well within his presidential powers.

He will issue an executive privilege order to the IRS, it will go to the courts and my guess is the SCOTUS will tell Congress to pound sand for the reasons they stated in US v Nixon.

McCabe: 'I think it's possible' Trump is a Russian asset

(CNN) — Former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe said Tuesday it is possible President Donald Trump is a Russian asset.

"Do you still believe the President could be a Russian asset?" asked CNN's Anderson Cooper during an interview with McCabe on "Anderson Cooper 360."

"I think it's possible. I think that's why we started our investigation, and I'm really anxious to see where (special counsel Robert) Mueller concludes that," McCabe said.

Well, there it is then. McCabe is clearly on to something and in a week, two at the most, Trump will be in chains before some low level justice of the peace, begging for release on his own recognizance because his empire has collapsed.

These fucks were too dumb to realize the 25th can only be used if the President is incapacitated. It is not a replacement for the impeachment process. In addition it doesn't matter who or how many cabinet officers agree, it can't proceed with the blessing of the Vice President and I don't see Pence signing onto that bit of a coup d'état.

what exactly made him UNFIT, other then being not CuntClinton?

wha made someone who was a ZERO, like NIGGER, fit?

Intimidation, Pressure and Humiliation: Inside Trump’s Two-Year War on the Investigations Encircling Him

WASHINGTON — As federal prosecutors in Manhattan gathered evidence late last year about President Trump’s role in silencing women with hush payments during the 2016 campaign, Mr. Trump called Matthew G. Whitaker, his newly installed attorney general, with a question. He asked whether Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York and a Trump ally, could be put in charge of the widening investigation, according to several American officials with direct knowledge of the call.

Mr. Whitaker, who had privately told associates that part of his role at the Justice Department was to “jump on a grenade” for the president, knew he could not put Mr. Berman in charge because Mr. Berman had already recused himself from the investigation. The president soon soured on Mr. Whitaker, as he often does with his aides, and complained about his inability to pull levers at the Justice Department that could make the president’s many legal problems go away.
