Several years back I went on a driving experience day, highlights were an original Churchill Tank, hand lever driven, basically once the engine is running the levers are in neutral push the right lever forward and you move forward to the right, both levers forward and you move straight forward. One forward and one towards you and you pivot on the spot. Fantastic to drive over rough terrain. It had an unpadded old style tractor seat, no suspension. Driver vision is through a oblong slot in front of you, very limited. In normal use an observer would stand head through a hatch and guide the driver with verbal commands.

Also had a 16 wheel (8 axles), all drive, all steer military truck. Wheels were over 5 feet diameter.

Most fun drive of the day was a reverse steer Land Rover. Steer right and turn left. Best was we weren’t told this until we drove it and found out.

Reminds me of the time a baby boy was born in a hospital. The nurses could see it was different. They weighed its testicles and found they weighed 5 pounds. The rest of its body weighed 5 pounds. When the doctor came in the nurses asked what should be done and the doctor said to send it to the mental hospital. The nurses did not think that was the correct thing to do and asked why he suggested that. The doctor replied, " Isn't it obvious? He's half nuts."

I've seen several of the buggies with all steer, or front and rear. It looks so weird. My husbands has enough levers already. Don't need to add more lol
