Inspired by another thread about murderers, I was curious who loves a good podcast?
Me? Give me anything crime related. I work with my hands at work so I have lots of downtime for my brain and they keep me productive.
Currently loving My Favourite Murder
What's your favourite?

I need a good long list of things to listen to while I work, and I have a few political podcasts I regularly go to but my favourite at the moment is along different lines - Science & Futurism with Isaac Arthur. It's a real head-spinner at times, and I love how it fires my imagination.

Try these.

Up and Vanished - both season 1 and 2

Bear Brook

Crimetown - Season 1 Providence, Season 2 - Detroit

Shattered presents: White Boy Rock

I love mind benders! I need to feel engaged so I'm adding this to my list.
I don't watch them!
I'd be impressed if you could;)

I've listened to Up and Vanished...it's good!
I haven't heard of Bear Brook.
Crimetown. ..is that where they follow a detective? I feel like I know it.

Bear Brook is about a cold case in NH

Crimetown is about the history of
organized crime in providence

I like "The Way I Heard It" with Mike Rowe. They are very short (12 min.) stories about a person and you try to guess who he is talking about the whole time. Very clever, beautifully written and interesting stories about people we all know, but maybe we didn't know that.

I used to listen to Bill Burr, but after he got married, his material is becoming a little tame. His wife would constantly interject on HIS podcast, and I stopped listening to them argue. I tell myself to check it out again, and just forget.

I once heard (on a podcast ironically) that women gravitate toward true crime stories because of the intimacy involved. I don't know if that's true, but it sounds kind of right. Thoughts?

Hmm... I don't know about that. I've also been into serial killers and horror. I think it's the "it could happen to them and never me" thing?

I kind of agree, but then I see WAY more women into true crime than men and I wonder. I love horror too, but I hate, hate, hate true stories. I like my serial killers to wear masks and be unkillable--Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. I like my killers cartoonish to a degree.

Although, you're definitely right the whole Schadenfreude (I had to look up how to spell that) thing is totally a part of it.

Does anyone have any good educational podcasts to suggest?

I want to learn something, anything, I don't really care what the subjects are, but I'm tired of listening to people selling their books/opinions. I want facts and knowledge.

Thanks! :)

Star Talk with Neil Degrasse Tyson? I enjoy that one a lot.

My favorite is Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.

Depends on who is doing it. I do like some people. I am not one of those people who will watch just anything. I do know a lot of people who will watch anything and become glued to it. *Shudder*

I love Joe Rogans podcast. I'm not a big fan of them in general but his podcast usually holds my attention unless it has a boring guest. Even then it's good for background noise.

"Hidden Brain" is my favorite, but I think "Dating While Gray" could be really interesting to listen to.

No Such Thing As A Fish
99% Invisible

Thanks everyone! I'll check these out and hopefully become a little more wiser-ly-ish :)

Only one I ever listed to regularly was Welcome to Night Vale. If you're interested in post-modern urban horror, you might like it.

A fanfiction I wrote was also featured in a My Little Pony podcast, but I'm not sure I should brag about that.

I listened to Night Vale--pretty cool.

My new favorite podcast is "Scary Stories Told in the Dark". It's a really good horror anthology.

I used to download and listen to a number of Industrial/Darkwave/DarkEDM style DJ podcasts. Not so much anymore.

I used to listen to many pod casts each week when I was limited to a lot of time inside off my legs post surgery.
These days I play catch up every other week on rest days at home.

I was listening to Those Conspiracy Guys which is funny as hell and interesting (although I don't like the true crime episodes) and one of them mentioned Literotica.
I've never heard Lit referenced anywhere before and thought that was pretty cool.

Perhaps one of them is among us? Hmmmm.

Listen to quite a few Horror podcasts while driving somewhere. Sometimes I'll listen at home too.

Funny that Lit was mentioned!

One of my favorite podcasts is Lore. I also like Welcome to Night Vale, TED Talks daily, and other random podcasts.
