Data from November's elections show the GOP's position among Latinos has not weakened during the Trump administration, despite the president's rhetoric and policy," read the tweet from MSNBC.

MSNBC reported that Democrats were distraught that Republicans had been able to retain so much of their support from Latinos.

"The question is not are Democrats winning the Hispanic vote," saidDemocratic pollster Fernand Amandi, "it's why aren't Democrats winning the Hispanic vote 80-20 or 90-10 the way black voters are?"

32%
So it's gone down by 20% since Bush ran in 2004.
Interesting, but not surprising, considering the GOP rhetoric.

If nothing else, shows there are plenty of Hispanic idiots not voting in their own self interests, just like the honkeys doing the same.
Well, anti-choice is pretty prevalent amongst catholics, and I'm guessing a lot of hispanics are catholic So if they are single issue voters, like many anti-choice people, they are voting in their own interest.

The problem with that is, they can just choose not to have an abortion..it's not up to them to decide for someone else what is right or wrong, especially over an issue that is legal.

So no, it's not in THEIR best interest.

If someone sees abortion as murder then they aren't going to say "well as long as I don't do it then it's ok." Just don't work that way. Most accept that it's legal but they're gonna push for it not to be.
Kinda like The Purge. Just cuz you accept that it's happening and lock up the house doesn't mean you won't vote for it to be abolished in the next election.

Interesting, it's gone UP since 2016 when Trump won the election with 28% of the Latino vote.

2016 Pew Research link from the article

Republican Donald Trump won 28% of the Latino vote

Which kinda translates to the D's CONTINUING TO LOSE the support from the Latino vote.

Amazing the way you ignore facts which are right in front of your eyes. TDS at it's finest I guess.

Trump and the gop have done little to nothing for Hispanics.. He's used them and the immigration issues as political pawns and scared the weak ignoramuses that comprise his base. For them to vote against their own best interests, say economically in order to determine what's right and wrong for someone else, is ridiculous IMO.

Mind your own business. Makes a lot more sense.

I never said I agreed with abortion or not.. it's not my place.. that's the pernt here Edith.

You mean like the fact Trump wasn't on the ballot in November, it was state and local candidates that the 32% is referring to?

TDS certainly is a good diagnosis for people like you.

Do you ever read the words that show up on your monitor? Or do you just post this kind of crap to prove yourself to be a complete idiot?

"MSNBC stunned by the number of Hispanics that voted Republican in midterms" is the title of this thread AND the linked article.

In the article it says that 32% of Hispanics voted for GOP candidates in the midterms.

In the linked PEW Research article it says that 28% voted for Trump in 2016.

How is that not an increase of 4% for the GOP?'
'
But but but, you say, Trump wasn't on the ballot in the midterms!

And? Is my reply. How is that STILL not a 4% increase in Latino voters voting for GOP candidates?

I never said I agreed with abortion or not.. it's not my place.. that's the pernt here Edith.

Doesn't matter if you agree or not. If someone sees abortion as wrong then they are going to vote against it if that's what they see as the biggest issue. Millions do see it that way. They don't care if it infringes on your choice because how they see it is that it's infringing on murder and that's ok.
Just because you see it as not your place doesn't mean everyone does.

Which is exactly why I said it was stupid.. suffer economically, watch your children (daca) being taken from you, and whatever else the gop has found to inflict upon you yet vote for something that has absolutely no affect on you whatsoever..

And until the do gooders start adopting the children affected by unwanted births, babies born unhealthy or missing parts or otherwise genetically unhealthy... then they should really make a different with their real actions, and not a bunch of I don't like it and neither should you.

It's just like the south... continue to vote for republicans yet remain at the bottom in income, education, quality of life etc etc etc.. You have to wonder just how important what other people do legally, should you let aid in your decision making.

I think it's completely ignorant. Jus sayin.

Hispanics flourishing in Trump economy

President Trump's economy is the rising tide that is lifting all boats. This is especially true for Hispanics, who were among the biggest victims of the low-growth, high-regulation economy under President Obama.

Last week, the Census Bureau announced new household income numbers, which showed that median income for Hispanic households grew by 3.7 percent, adjusted for inflation, last year. That’s more than double the increase seen by all households. More Hispanics moved into the upper-income brackets, and fewer remained in the lower ones. That’s welcome news as the nation celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month.

Contrast this to the Obama economy. It took until 2015 for Hispanic household incomes to finally get back to their 2006 levels. For the population as a whole, household incomes remained flat between 2010 and 2014, as President Obama rolled out one job-killing policy after the next

I think of it as something like this: If you are a person who wants to work hard and get ahead and support your children and other family members, why would you not vote for GOP candidates. I would expect this to apply to all ethnicities. Dems want to take the money that working people have earned through the sweat of their brows and dole it out to loafers and unwed mothers and illegal aliens and others who are essentially parasites on the body politic.

This is an oversimplification, but most people, if they vote in their own self-interests, will vote for GOP candidates.

Nice bigotry with the racial slurs....another self loathing (D)um. :D

How is voting for freedom and individual rights not in their own self interest?

Just proving how sever his TDS is.

LOL economic suffering is brought about by the socialist bullshit you support.....kids are taken from you by the same government YOU worship and want to give totalitarian godlike authority.

It just proves that Mexicans are smarter than Americans. A much smaller percentage of Mexicans voted for the Idiot in Chief.

Even gaining back that tiny percentage of loss, it's still a major decline for the GOP since 2004.

That's certainly one way of spinning it, Timmeh.

Another view might be that when Trump is on the ballot himself, Hispanic voters are moar likely to vote for Democrats than when he is NOT on the ballot.

In other words, Trump drags the ticket down.

1. You and the rest need to drop the Timmeh crap. No one cares about it because the reference is lost (mostly because it wasn't very clear in the first place). It's not an insult, I'm not embarrassed by it, and continuing to use it just shows how desperate you are. It's also as lame as "zumi's constantly overused gifs... no, the gif's are worse but it's a close call.

2. Your viewpoint works. If you want to look backward and ignore the fact that the tide is changing. People vote in their self interest. Having more money is in everyone's self interest and right now people like what they're seeing in their bank accounts.

I like how I am such a serious part of RacistDownSouths lit life he dedicated his siggy to me, not brave enough to call me a gook in person it again....but that’s not shocking. :D

Well, there are WHITE Hispanics, they can be of any race. In fact about a sizeable amount put down white as their racial group.

There are also self hating Latinos who hate Mexicans for whatever reason. When bloated manchild goes on his rants, they think he is only referring to the Mexicans.

"Derp, he ain't talking about me."

There is quite a bit of the divisiveness among the Latino community.

The math holds, there are far more Hispanics who vote Democratic than Repugnant.

Face it, your party is the turf of old, white cranky men.

Support for an open air racist who resorts to racial slurs when arguments don’t go his way noted.

Maybe one day you’ll get as progressive as Rob and start calling me a gook for asking the hard questions too;)

You are quite the hysterical beast. I support someone's alleged racism because I like his signature line? That's like hating Ferrari because Bill Cosby drives one.
