people have bills due at specific times that, if they can't be paid, might mean they lose a whole damned lot. they can know about this in advance, of course they can.
just because you claim to be fortunate enough for it not to have any deep impact on you should you be placed in a similar position, doesn't mean you should lack genuine empathy towards those who will be.
turn your back on the genuine stories of people in difficulty, refuse to care at all if you wish, but don't tell me that these stories are untrue. try being 6 months pregnant, married with a four year old who needs childcare paid for so both parents can do their jobs, and having to work for the tsa with no pay for an unknown period of time. his shutdown IS hurting people and will only continue to do so more and more till this is ended.
since the house and senate agreed to funds for border security before the shutdown, on a bill trump won't sign because no wall, how can you claim it's all the fault of pelosi? you suck at this. silly man.
I'm not "well off". I'm 60, semi retired, and still work because I have bills to pay. My paychecks aren't steady either so I have to be aware of the fact that I pay my bills AND put money away for lean times.
I've done this since I was in my teens working a paper route then a min wage job. And NO ONE can say that the military gets paid well. Nor did it when I was serving my tour.
Did my bills go unpaid when I couldn't pay them? Sometimes. Did I whine and cry to others about how awful it was? No. Did I expect someone else to come along and help me out financially? Again, no.
ADULTS plan for bad times. Children expect others to protect them from themselves.
